The Big Plastic Count - last week your child was sent home with a count sheet to record how much plastic is thrown away at home during the course of the week. Once your household has completed the investigation, your child can record your results at home via our unique class links. Please join School/Eco Council to create a fairer future for young people - thank you!

Yr 3/4 London trip- Just a reminder that Woodpeckers need to be in school at 6.40am on Wednesday 18th March.  As per previous email children will need to bring a packed lunch with enough food and drink for the entire day. This should be packed in a small backpack, as children will be responsible for carrying their own bags throughout the visit. Any travel sickness medication required for the return journey must be handed to the class teacher in a clearly named envelope.Children should wear full school uniform, comfortable walking shoes or trainers, and a waterproof coat. Please see a link London visit with information regarding the visit, in case you have not been able to access through your child's google classroom.

Livestock Project - we are excited to be welcoming our sheep to school on Monday 16th March. There will be strict hygiene proceedures in place with hand washing before and after interacting with them. If anyone feels they would prefer their child not having direct contact with the sheep please let the office know.
Children should wear forest school / old clothes and bring wellies or trainers on the following days when they will be visiting the sheep: They will also need a change of footwear to wear after visiting the sheep when coming into building to prevent contamination of faeces.
Kittens and Squirrels Monday and Wednesday; Woodpeckers Thursday and Foxes Tuesday.

Shoes at breaktime - as the weather is improving we are able to get back onto the school field at break times, please send the children into school with a change of shoes/trainers for playing outside.

KS1 Colchester Castle Trip - thank you to those parents who have already returned the permission slip for this trip. If you are unable to print the letter please note that an email into school giving permission will be fine.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean.  Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
