How will I know how well my child is doing?

Every pupil has a Learning Journey documenting learning, progress and reflections throughout the year. Parents/carers are invited into class during the autumn term to share and discuss learning skills and achievements. Following this, there are parent consultations; further family learning sessions in spring and summer and a spring consultation. Over the year, the Learning Journey forms the end‑of‑year report.

We believe in strong partnership with parents/carers, keeping communication open especially for pupils with complex needs. Parents/carers are offered termly meetings outside of regular consultations for in‑depth discussion of support, impact, targets and next steps (part of APDR). Children with EHCPs have Annual Reviews from the point the plan is finalised. Open‑door policy: appointments with the class teacher or SENDCo available at any time.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
