Stages of SEND

Monitoring Support:

·        Children below age‑related expectations identified through assessment/tracking. Provision and support identified on a Raising Attainment Plan as appropriate for monitoring; reviewed half‑termly/termly as appropriate.

SEND Support:

·        If needs cannot be met through additional intervention alone, external support services are requested. Decisions taken by the SENDCo and colleagues, in consultation with parents/carers, at a review meeting to ensure effective provision and prevent the development of more significant needs.

Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs):

·        For very few children, SEND Support may not be sufficient to enable adequate progress; statutory assessment may be initiated. An EHCP is a legal document outlining targets and strategies to meet targets.
