Inclusion in Activities — Inside & Outside the Classroom
All pupils are included in curriculum activities, tournaments, outside events and after‑school clubs. Pupils take part in the Multi‑School Council, which brings together pupils from mainstream and special schools to break down stigma around SEND and mental health, empower children to lead initiatives and promote inclusive values.
We aim for all pupils to be included on school trips with necessary support. Teachers meet parents/carers to plan and identify any risks/difficulties; risk assessments are carried out to ensure safety. If it is unsafe for a child to take part in an activity, an alternative equal‑value activity is provided in school.
Teachers make arrangements to ensure participation in curriculum activities: adjusting space/routines, adapting equipment, considering adult support, meeting parents/carers to plan inclusion, and seeking specialist advice where needed.
After-school clubs
After‑school clubs are available for all pupils who can participate independently. Many clubs are managed by outside organisations who may not be aware of individual needs; please speak to the class teacher about if and how your child could access the activity.
