Copdock Weekly Update 01/05/2026

Information to Share

Attendance figures - attendance for our school is 96.5% which is above the Local and National Average of 94.9% and 94.8% respectively. Well done everyone.

Park Run - following on from the success of the cross country in March if anyone would like to take part in running in a fun way. See attached poster.

Items in School - please could we remind parents in KS1 that children should be bringing a bookbag to school and not a backpack. This is because they need to be stored in their trays which is not possible with backpacks. We would also request that keyrings attached to bookbags are kept to a minimum, and only small, we currently have a lot of keyrings that don't fit in the trays. There has also been an increase in the number of books/toys/crafts etc from home being brought into school, we would please ask for this not to happen as storage space is limited in classrooms, and we don't want them getting lost during the day.

Smart Phones - you may be aware there is a Parent Pact to try and delay getting children smart phones until they are older. If you would like to find out more about this please follow this link  https://smartphonefreechildhood.org/parent-pact-results

We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

Parent Information - Please see some flyers attached for parents of events and information.
Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean.  Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
