SCHOOL VISION

DEVELOPING RESPONSIBILITY We have noticed a few more jumpers and cardigans without names recently. When children remove items of uniform, we encourage them to hang things on their peg or put them in their locker. This promotes responsibility and the importance of taking care of belonging, both our own and others. To support youir children to develop responsibility, please ensure they have their name in all items of uniform that can be removed (including PE kit). If they come out at the end of the day without it, youn can then ask them to go an find it as it has their name in it. Together we can reduce lost items and save money in replacing them.

SUCCESS AND CONFIDENCE If your child takes part in clubs and activities outside of school, we would love to have a photo of them showing confidence or being successful to go on our school board. We also share certificates and trophies on a Friday in family assembly. We currently have a few children's achievements on our board but we know there are lots of really exciting things going on. Please share these with us!

Harvest Festival - next Thursday is our annual harvest festival at the church.  Parents are welcome to join us for singing and prayers from 2.30pm, with parking available at Copdock Hall. If you would like to make a contribution to the harvest collection, please send in any tinned/packet food (in good date) with your child on the morning. These will be added to the church collection before distribution.  Please note ALL children need to be collected from the church on this occasion.  If your child will be attending after school club, please confirm to us to ensure we are aware they need bringing back to school.

Celebration Cake - thank you to Sarah Roffey for making our 150th Celebration Cake. Picture attached.

Tea Towels - if you have ordered any additional tea towels, delivery will be within 2/3 weeks. Payments to be made on Spider by 5pm today please. If you would like to order more please email into the office.

Christmas Cake Club - it’s nearly time again for our KS2 Christmas cake club for Year 3 -Year 6.  The children learn how to make a Christmas cake, marzipan and icing as well as decorate.

The club will run on the following dates/times:
Thursday 6th November 3.15-4.15pm
Thursday 13th November 3.15-4pm
Thursday 20th November 3.15-4.15pm
Thursday 27th November 3.15-4.15pm
Thursday 4th December 3.15-4.15pm
The cost will be £23. We also need parent help to support the children with the making, marzipanning and icing as well as washing/tidying.
Unfortunately, if we do not have enough children taking part or parent help, we will not be able to run the club.
Please email the office to reserve a place for your child which will be on a ‘first come’ basis.

Amen Shoebox Appeal - we will be supporting the shoebox appeal alongside the church once again this year, linking this to our value of generosity with the children.  Leaflets are available in school if you wish to complete your own box.  However, we also welcome any small gifts from our families so the children can make up boxes with the donations received.  More information about suitable gifts can be found on the Attached leafletThe deadline for gifts is half term please, allowing time for boxes to be packed and prepared for delivery.  Thank you in advance for your support.

World Mental Health Day – Friday 10th October 💛 we will be joining schools and communities around the world to mark World Mental Health Day. This year, the global focus is: 'Access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies.' While this highlights the importance of ensuring support is available for those facing crises around the world, in school we will be focusing on how we can all play a part in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing every day.We are encouraging all children to wear something yellow alongside their school uniform (eg hair bands, socks) Throughout the day, we will be taking part in activities that promote wellbeing and help children explore ways to look after their mental health.

Final Call for 100 Club - if you would like to take part please see email sent out earlier this week for information on how to register and payment details. Forms can be handed in in paper or completed online with this link. https://forms.office.com/e/j5tGbsQAve

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.
Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.
Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
