Information to Share Uniform Order - please note today is the last day for uniform orders. Orders can be paid for until 4pm today on Spider, forms must be sent into the office to confirm sizes etc.
Midday Supervisor - Bentley School is looking for a casual Midday Supervisor to support lunchtime activities, 12-1pm. If you are interested and would like to know more please contact the school office 01473 310253
KS1 Book Bags - a reminder that all KS1 children need to have their blue Copdock Primary book bag in school each day. All children were given one of these as a gift from the school when they started. This helps children to safely carry their reading books, letters and other important items between home and school. We also kindly ask that book bags have only one or two small keyrings attached. Lots of keyrings can make the bags quite bulky, which means we struggle to fit them safely into the children’s trays.
KS1 Reading Books - we would be really grateful if all families could have a quick check at home to see if you still have any reading books from last year. We are currently missing quite a few books from our Phase 2 Wordless books reading sets. We use these sets during our guided reading sessions in school, and the children also take the books home to practise their reading. When books are missing from a set, it means we may not have enough copies for every child. Having complete sets helps us to give all children the regular reading practice they need to make the best possible progress with their phonics. Thank you so much for having a look at home and returning any books you find. We really appreciate your help!
Thursday 1st October - change to menu
Please find a flyer attached regarding a change to the menu on Thursday, jacket potatoes and sandwiches will also be on offer.
Harvest Service - Tuesday 6th October, 2.40pm at St Peters Church, parking is available at Copdock Hall. All parents will need to collect from the church at 3.15pm. Please let us know if your child is at ASC as they will be brought back on the bus. Donations of packets and tins welcome on the day. All collections from school and church will support Ipswich Minster top Up shop.
Changes to social media posts
We love sharing snapshots of the exciting learning and experiences happening across our school. However, with developments in AI bringing new considerations around the use of children’s images online, we are adapting how we use social media. Children’s faces will no longer be shown in our social media posts. Instead, you will see more creative images showing busy hands, children engaged in activities, backs of heads. We will also show side on images for those children with social media permissions. We can still share and celebrate those special moments while taking additional steps to safeguard our children online.
Open days
Please see attached a flyer detailing our open days for families of children who will be starting next September. Please share with other families who may be interested.
East Anglian Daily Times-Lego Education Token Collect Competition - tokens will be in EADT newspapers between 28th Sep-30th Nov 2026 for a chance to win £1000 of Lego Education for our federation. Please spread the word to family and friends to collect tokens and hand into school. Thank you
Dress Down Day Thursday 22nd October - no Tricks, Just Treats! Children are invited to come into school in dress down clothing on Thursday 22nd October, in exchange for a Halloween ‘treat’ to be used for the raffle. Please ensure that clothing is appropriate for learning and suitable for school. Halloween Disco -The PTA will be hosting a Halloween Disco straight after school in the hall from 3:30pm. Your child is able to go straight from school and will be ready for pick up at 4:30pm.Tickets are £4 per child and are available from the PTA.To purchase tickets, please message Amy Balaam or Charlotte Lawrence, Or place an envelope containing payment in the school office.

REMINDERS!!!! Please keep up to date with payments - whether it's dinner money or PGL. Thank you. Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly. Earrings must be removed for PE lessons. Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn. Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled. Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening. DON'T FORGET: Copdock 100 Club - 100 Club - a reminder If you would like to take part, complete the online form with this link Copdock 100 Club 2026-27 – Fill in form or send a printed copy back to school. Deadline for entry is 25th September. This year our focus is on 'Ambition and Challenge'. Any funds raised will go towards enterprise activities and learning about money, both spending and saving!

 Safeguarding and Acceptable Use Agreements (AUA) - our policies have now been updated for 2026-27 and are available on the school website. Children have discussed the AUA with their teachers this week to support positive online safety. A reminder that we need parents to read and agree the children's AUA and the agreement for parents via Arbor. Together we can support safe and positive use of technology. Please update this by Friday 18th September.
Arbor Data - please check and update - a reminder that ALL parents need check their data on Arbor & ensure everything is up to date and correct. Please double-check permissions have been completed, along with medical and allergy information. Historically a hard copy of your data & your child's would have been sent home for checking - Arbor enables this to be a live record, but it does need checking at the start of each school year and updating for changes throughout the year. Please note you only have access to yours & your child's data - not partners, therefore everybody needs to check their own information. This data informs our critical incident plan and is imperative we have all the correct information.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
