Copdock Weekly Update 25/04/2025
Information to ShareWalking Bus - want to have fun walking to school with your friends every morning? Join our school walking bus! It’s a safe, fun, and healthy way to start your day. Walking helps you stay active and strong, plus it means fewer cars around the school, which makes it safer for everyone. Even better, by walking instead of driving, you’re helping the planet by reducing pollution. This will also help reduce the fumes from the cars around the school as part of our sustainable travel in the climate action plan. The walking bus will start on Monday the 28th April and is being led by Amanda Perryman. If you need to drive, you can still join in by parking at the bottom of the hill (please do not block the bus stop) or in The Brook Inn car park. Amanda will be waiting on the footpath opposite the bus stop from 8:25 and will be leaving to walk to school at 8:30 following the route up Pheasants Rise. Parents will need to supervise their own children on the walk. Amanda is there in a supervisory role so parents will need to talk to their children about walking sensibly. Older children who normally walk can carry on either behind the bus or as part of it. We really hope you take part and join in! The walking bus will continue daily to the end of term. Sandwich Options - please note chicken sandwiches are no longer available on the new menu due to ordering difficulties. The menu can be found on our website here. Foxes trip to Long Shed - Foxes children have a trip to Woodbridge on Wednesday 30th April. Children need to arrive at school for 8.35am please and bring a packed lunch. Photo Permissions - thank you to everyone who has already accessed their records on Arbor - we have 49% of parents already using the app which is great news! Unfortunately the photo permissions have not migrated across from our previous system. Therefore, it would be really helpful if you could update your preferences in the consents section to ensure we have accurate, up to date information. If you are having any issues accessing the app or your child's details, please let us know so that we can iron out any teething issues and ensure the system works efficiently for us all. Library Reopening - as you may be aware, we have been revamping our library with new furniture and over 600 new books added to it! We are hosting a re-opening event on Friday 9th May at 2:20pm when Lisa Thompson, a local children's author will be coming along to do the unveiling. She will also be reading an extract from one of her books. Lisa has kindly offered to sign any copies of her books brought into school on the day. Her books are available from Dial Lane Books or Waterstones in Ipswich. She will also have a handful of copies available to purchase from her at the event for around £6/7. Please note the sharing assembly for that date will be held at 9am to allow time for this exciting event to take place. Whole School Food Policy - thank you to all parents who have supported our whole school food policy. The policy has now been agreed by governors and is available to view on our website. This has also been shared and discussed with children in assembly. Snack shop is open at breaktimes selling rice/corn cakes for 10p. The children are welcome to bring in fruit from home or help themselves to fruit in school. Please pop fruit snacks in school bags and not lunch boxes. The school council will also be following this up by thinking about how they could improve the variety of fruit and encouraging children to drink water; especially as the warm weather is nearly upon us....hopefully! Playground Items - please keep an eye on the playground at pick up times - there will be packs of seeds on offer for 50p per pack. There is also a trolley containing lots of books that have been updated in the library - please take any you wish to own or you can donate them to a charity shop on our behalf. The PTA are looking to restart ice cream Fridays so don't forget your pennies - and positive thoughts to encourage the sunshine to join us! Term Dates - please note there was an error on the newsletter at the end of term. The last day of the school year will be Tuesday 22nd July. Apologies for any confusion caused. |
