Copdock Weekly Update 21/11/2025

Information to Share

Bentley Photographic - children's photos - as per last weeks newsletter the deadline for ordering for free delivery is 24th November 2025

Christmas lunch - Please see menu attached  and complete survey which opens today at 12pm for your child's choice by Thursday 4th December.  There are no other options for lunch on this day so if your child does not want to have a Christmas Lunch, they will need to bring a packed lunch from home.  KS1 children are free, as are children in receipt of free school meals, All other KS2 children need to pay £2.80 in the usual way on spider.

Christmas clothing - please come to school in your Christmas atire on Friday 28th November ready for our advent service.

Advent tags - It is great to hear so many children are keen to be advent elves as part of our giving at Christmas, thank you. We will be adding tags to the tree for families to collect in our advent service next Friday 28th November. Each tag will have a number on it. If you would like to make a donation, please take a tag and bring in your Christmas treat on that date in December. We will be sharing an online link to see the goodies 'delivered' each day.

Forest Schools - as per the email sent earlier in the week, please ensure the children are wearing appropriate clothes for being outdoors as the weather turns colder. This should include joggers/leggings, a long sleeve top/jacket, as well as hat/gloves/scarf. Please ensure they have wellies in school, but wear trainers into school for their PE session. The children will be doing PE in their forest schools clothing, therefore please make sure what they are wearing is suitable for this, so please ensure they are wearing jogging bottoms or suitable leggings (no jeans).
Woodpeckers - Now the weather is getting cold, Year 3 / 4  need an old warm coat, hat and gloves for Forest School every Monday.  They also need to bring an old pair of shoes or boots which they can change into and get muddy.  Unfortunately, they can't wear these to swimming which is why they will need a change of footwear.
Thank you for your help and support.

Second hand bikes - we are looking to acquire a few second hand bikes for aged 8/9. If anyone is planning on replacing bikes for Christmas and may consider selling us their old ones, subject to them being in good working condition please contact the office.

U9's Dodgeball Tournament - as per the email sent earlier in the week, some of the children will be attending an U9s Mixed Dodgeball Tournament on Tuesday 25th November at Ipswich Sports Centre.

Christmas Decoration Making - parents are invited into school on Thursday 27th November at 2:15pm to make Christmas Decorations with the children.

Christmas Tree Service - please join us on Friday 28th November from 2:30pm for our Family Assembly and Christmas Tree Service

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean. Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Art Tokens - tokens will be printed in the Ipswich star and East Anglian Daily Times. Simply cut out the tokens and drop them into the office for the school to have a chance of winning some art supplies. There will be bonus tokens during the week of 27th October.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
