Copdock Weekly Update 20/03/2026

Information to Share

Sheep - it has been great having Tallulah and her lamb Quinn in school this week. The children have all enjoyed spending some time with them during the week.

London News - the children all had a wonderful day out on Wednesday in London. I am sure you have all seen the photos on the Group Conversation page.

Athlete news - Thank you for all the sponsor forms and money sent in this week for the Athlete's visit on Thursday.  Children enjoyed hearing about his background, sport and how to keep healthy and active and took part in some circuit training with him.  Children who sent in sponsor money were given their medals at the end of the session and had their certificates today. The school raised a huge amount of money for this and after donating some to comic relief, we have some funds left to purchase some new PE or playground equipment; we will involve the children in what they would like to spend the money on.

Yr 5/6 London Trip - just a reminder that Foxes need to be in school at 6.40am on Thursday 26th March.  As per previous email children will need to bring a packed lunch with enough food and drink for the entire day. This should be packed in a small backpack, as children will be responsible for carrying their own bags throughout the visit.  Any travel sickness medication required for the return journey must be handed to the class teacher in a clearly named envelope.  Children should wear full school uniform, comfortable walking shoes or trainers, and a waterproof coat.

Cross Country-Wednesday 25th March - an email has been sent to parents whose child/ren is attending this event.

Payments - Please can we ask that all payments for this term's dinners are settled by the end of Tuesday please (you can pay in advance if you know what your child will be doing for lunch each day) so we can reconcile the end of financial year payments. Thank you for your support.

Ipswich Minster - our next visit to Ipswich Minster takes place on Wednesday 25th March. If you would like to send any donations in we would be grateful for any toiletries and hygiene products. Thank you as always for your support.

PTA Chocolate Bingo/Dress Down Day - please find attached a poster with information for the PTA's Chocolate Bingo event on Friday 27th March. The children are invited to come to school in non-uniform on this day in exchange for a chocolate donation for the Bingo.

Easter Bonnets - we will be holding our annual Easter parade next Friday, 27th March at 2.45pm at school instead of family assembly. We can't wait to see the children's beautiful 'bonnets', all shapes and sizes welcome!

Medication in School - all medication will be sent home next Friday afternoon to be checked and sent back in to school, if required, after the Easter break. A reminder that any new medication will need a permission form to be completed, and please also complete the medical section in Arbor if it is an ongoing condition.

RHS Open Day information - Please see a poster attached and information below

Please join us at RHS for our April Open Morning!
This is a great opportunity to explore what makes our school so special.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
  • A warm welcome and introduction from the Headmaster
  • Insights from current pupils about their day-to-day experiences
  • A guided tour of the school, including classrooms, sports areas, and more
  • A chance to unwind in our Parent Lounge with refreshments from our buffet
  • The opportunity to meet other prospective families and ask any questions you may have

We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean.  Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!

Kittens: ewe & fleece

Squirrels: defeat & invade

Woodpeckers: tension & protein

Foxes:  saute & dice (food)

Our Value this half term is 'forgiveness' If you would like to explore this theme at home, see our family leaflet here
