Copdock Weekly Update 17/10/2025

Information to Share

Governor Changes - Governors have held their first meeting of the year and have been visiting classes to see children once again. Mr Simon Hurst has been the Chair of Governors for the federation for many years and has now stepped back to a governor role for his coming term. Mr Laurie Page has been elected as Chair of Governors for the coming academic year and Mrs Gemma Mark will be our new Vice Chair. We have thanked Simon for his work as Chair over many years and are pleased to be able to make full use of his expertise as he continues to support our schools as a co-opted governor.

Activity Week - Foxes children will be having an activity week next week where they will be trying all types of activities.  Parents have been sent a Schedule confirming clothing and lunch requirements.  Please make sure you have seen the latest version of this, sent out today.  In addition to this on Thursday ALL CHILDREN will be participating in enhancements to their PE activities. Also on this day is the PTA dress down day in exchange for halloween hamper donations - please see attched for full details. Please ensure clothing is appropriate for participating in sporting activites.

Art Tokens - tokens will be printed in the Ipswich star and East Anglian Daily Times from 29th September and running until the 6th December.  Simply cut out the tokens and drop them into the office for the school to have a chance of winning some art supplies.

Amen Shoebox Appeal - we will be supporting the shoebox appeal alongside the church once again this year, linking this to our value of generosity with the children.  Leaflets are available in school if you wish to complete your own box.  However, we also welcome any small gifts from our families so the children can make up boxes with the donations received.  More information about suitable gifts can be found on the Attached leafletThe deadline for gifts is half term please, allowing time for boxes to be packed and prepared for delivery.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Muddy Shoes - we are keen to keep the children on the field for as long as possible whilst it remains dry outdoors. However, we have noticed muddy shoes creeping in as the weather changes. If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean. Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Foundation Children Drop Off - after half term we ask that foundation parents say goodbye at the bottom of the ramp to encourage the children to walk into school independently along with the rest of their peers.  We ask that all parents remain at the bottom of the ramp unless they have an pre-arranged appointment with a member of staff.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
