Copdock Weekly Update 17/04/26

Information to Share

KS1 Colchester Castle Trip - Thank you to those parents who have already returned the permission slip for this trip. As today is the deadline for permissions slips to be returned please send an email into school giving permission for your child to attend. A reminder that children need to wear their school uniform with confortable footwear and a waterproof coat.  They will need a packed lunch from home or you can order a school packed lunch via the survey on Spider.  All children will still need to have a drink for the day.

Mill Lane Play Area - School will be working closely with the Parish Council to improve the Mill Lane play area.  Please could you complete the survey which will support the funding evidence to improve the area and help to make it a great place for our children. It should only take a minute. Thanks for your help. Survey Link

Support for Military families - Thank you to those who found something yellow this week to show support for military families on Dandelion Day.  We will also be marking the official MoD  ‘Purple Up! Day’ on 24th April if anyone would like to join us with a splash of purple.

PTA News - please find flyers attached of upcoming events. The PTA are keen to receive any donations of school uniform your child has outgrown for their next uniform sale which will now take place on 3rd July. They are also desparately in need of volunteers for the Summer Fete on Sunday 14th June, if you feel you could support them by giving up 1 hour of your time please get in touch with them.

We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

Parent Information - Please see some flyers attached for parents of events and information.
Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean.  Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
