Copdock Weekly Update 16/01/2026
Information to ShareLondon Visits - KS2 - We are now busy planning and preparing for our visits to London in March.
Miss Cross will be visiting the site to support our risk assessments and further information will be shared after half term.
Y3/4 March 18th March Y5/6 26th March
We have secured a grant of £1000 to support costs for this visit and our amazing PTAs will also be contributing. This means the cost to parents will be approx £4.
The visit will support curriculum topics in Geography, particularly comparisons in physical landmarks within the capital city. The day is planned to be a fantastic experience for the children, including a boat ride down the Thames and an aerial view of the city via the London Eye. There is currently no plans to explore further than these areas.
If you have any questions which will support our planning please do send them in now so we can include answers when we share further info after half term.
Ipswich Minster Visit - Following the success of our visit to the Top Up Shop Ipswich Minster, we have agreed a monthly visit with a group of children. This will be an opportunity for those who want to explore volunteering to do so. Our next visit will be on 21st January and parents of children involved this month will be contacted directly. If any families would like to make donations to the food bank before the visit, please send them into school by MONDAY 19th so we can take them with us.
Upcoming Road Works - there is due to be traffic management scheme (traffic lights) in place around The Street and Back Lane whilst resurfacing works are being carried out at the bus stop island, The Street, from 26th to 28th January. This may bring about slight delays at drop-off / pick-up times at the School so please allow extra time for this.
Save the Date - PTA Valentines Disco - on Friday 13th February the PTA will be having a Valentines Disco in the school hall 3:30pm-4:30pm. Tickets will be available via the PTA and they will be asking for Pink or Red donations for a raffle. Full details to follow.
EBHS - Please see information attached regarding proposed building work at East Bergholt High School.
Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages. We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!! Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly. Earrings must be removed for PE lessons. Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn. Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled. Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening. Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean. Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support. |
