Information to Share Term dates 2027-28-These are now confirmed and are on the website https://www.bentleycopdock.co.uk/page/term-dates-2027-28/164594
Shared learning and Curriculum catch up - parents are invited in to join us for our curriculum update on PSHE and Therapeutic Thinking approaches on 6th November 2.15pm before shared learning. This will be an opportunity to discuss and explore the Pol-Ed resources we use to support lessons, including Relationships and Sex Education, and see our new long term plan. Resources are available on our school website Bentley CEVC & Copdock Primary Federation: PSHE curriculum. Please confirm if you will be attending.
Parent Consultations and shared learning - we have parent consultations planned for 11th and 12th November. The bookings for these will be live after half term.
There is shared learning on Friday 6th November from 2.45pm (from 2.30pm if you have more than one child). Parents will be able to read their child's settling in report as part of shared learning before meeting to discuss targets and progress at the consultations. Please bring your child to the discussions with you so we can chat through learning together.
Thank you for Macmillan Donations - across the two schools we raised around £330, thank you to all who supported the event.
Amen Shoebox Appeal - please find attached a leaflet, and information below regarding the shoe box appeal for this year. We will not be putting boxes together in school this year as we continue to support IMTUS but if any families would like to make up a box we will collect the boxes in school or they can be left at the places detailed below. Please check the leaflet attached for what is needed in the box and send in to school by Monday 2nd November.
‘AMEN’ is the name of a Christian Charity who are asking for support with their Christmas Family Shoebox Appeal for 2026. AMEN is a registered charity; more information can be found on their website. www.amentrust.co.uk or on Facebook. These boxes are given to very poor communities in Romania, the emphasis being on family and therefore should include something for Mum and Dad and children. All boxes will be delivered by volunteers direct to families in time for Christmas and will bring much joy and happiness. So, can you help please? Last year we collected and made up 115 boxes, and these were added to ones collected at the central depot in Capel St Mary, a total of 488 left in November 2025. Doreen Savage is the local co-ordinator being assisted by Alison Partridge. We have leaflets that contain ideas for things that can be included in your boxes, we can provide empty shoeboxes and deliver to you, and we will happily collect filled ones. Completed shoeboxes can be left with Doreen at DELPHIS, Station Rd, Bentley between 26th October and 4th November. More information can be obtained, mobile 07784787596 or Doreen,[email protected] or contact Alison Partridge 07759745678 or [email protected] We would appreciate if you can complete a full shoebox, however we have a collection point for donations at the village shop for items listed on the leaflets. We need everything by 4th November 2026 – hopefully we can beat last year’s total. Free School Meals - please see information attached about changes to free school meals that happened this academic year and what that might mean for families.
Visits this Year - this year we have planned some visits to support our curriculum as part of our 2 year rolling plan. Where there will be a cost associated with these activities, we have identified this in the attached document. Whilst our school tries to fund as many events as possible, alongside PTA funding, we do sometimes need to request voluntary contributions from families to allow them to take place. This is often due to the travel costs of getting to the venue. These potential contributions are highlighted below before we plan the visits for the year. If you have concerns about being able to contribute to these events, please tell us as soon as possible, so we can decide if the visit can go ahead.
Dress Down Day Thursday 22nd October - no Tricks, Just Treats! Children are invited to come into school in dress down clothing on Thursday 22nd October, in exchange for a Halloween ‘treat’ to be used for the raffle. Please ensure that clothing is appropriate for learning and suitable for school.
Halloween Disco - the PTA will be hosting a Halloween Disco straight after school on Thursday 22nd October in the hall from 3:30pm. Your child is able to go straight from school and will be ready for pick up at 4:30pm. Tickets are £4 per child and are available from the PTA. To purchase tickets, please message Amy Balaam or Charlotte Lawrence, or place an envelope containing payment in the school office.
We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

REMINDERS!!!! Please keep up to date with payments - whether it's dinner money or PGL. Thank you. Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly. Earrings must be removed for PE lessons. Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn. Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled. Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.
East Anglian Daily Times - Lego Education Token Collect Competition - tokens will be in EADT newspapers between 28th Sep-30th Nov 2026 for a chance to win £1000 of Lego Education for our federation. Please spread the word to family and friends to collect tokens and hand into school. Thank you. |

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful! Kittens: share & listen Squirrels: vast & azure Woodpeckers: transform & decay Foxes: codex & particle
Our Value this half term is 'Generosity' If you would like to explore this theme at home, see our family leaflet here. |
