Copdock Weekly Update 05/12/2025

Information to Share

Christmas Performance Tickets - surveys for tickets to the Christmas performances is open from 2pm today to Thursday 11th December at 11am.  Please note there are only 2 tickets available per family per performance due to Fire regulations. There will be performances at 2 different times for each Key stage.  Please indicate the number of tickets required for each performance. (Please note that siblings will count for a ticket if attending)

Copdock Church Nativity - please see poster attached

PTA Wreath Night - on Thursday 11th December the PTA will be hosting their annual Wreath Night at Copdock Hall Barn. Please contact the PTA should you wish to book a ticket.

Update from School Council and Eco Club - you may have noticed the banners outside our school about no idling. Pollution from vehicles damages our health. It can cause asthma and make us poorly. 1 minute idling is equivalent to 150 ballons of harmful chemicals. Please turn your engine off while waiting at the beginning and end of the day.

Woodpeckers DT Day - on Thursday 11th December Woodpeckers will be going to Bentley to join Hedgehogs class for a DT session. They will leave Copdock after registration and return to school before the end of the day. Your child will still be able to order a school dinner on this day if they would like to.

Food Policy - you may have seen on our Instagram page some examples of great packed lunches being brought in and enjoyed. Please take a moment to refresh yourself on our food policy.

Kittens Class Teacher - We look forward to welcoming Miss Kasia Zych to school on Tuesday 9th December. Miss Zych will spend the day getting to know the children and parents attending 'stay and play' will be able to say hello during the session. I am sure you will give her a very warm welcome.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean. Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Art Tokens - tokens will be printed in the Ipswich star and East Anglian Daily Times. Simply cut out the tokens and drop them into the office for the school to have a chance of winning some art supplies.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
