Mill Lane Playground Development  - please be reminded this is happening now, and will be available after school until 4pm.
 
Free School Meals - New Guidance May 2026 - The Department for Education (DfE) have published updated FSM guidance to provide information on the changes which apply from September 2026. See guidance attached.. All households in receipt of Universal Credit will be entitled to receive FSM from the start of the 2026/2027 school year. Contact:  [email protected]
 
Questionnaire - The Schools Commissioner, Rachel de Souza, would like to hear from children aged 0–18 from every background, in every part of the country so they can share their views about what it is like to be a child today. The questionnaire asks children about the things they enjoy, the challenges they face, the changes they want to see in their communities, and what they think a good childhood should look like now and in the future. Please chat with your child and help them to complete the survey here: http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture

Sports Afternoon - as per previous email this will now take place on Tuesday 9th June at 1pm. Parents are welcome into school from 12.30pm. The children will have their lunch in school at 12noon as usual and then will be able to join their family on the field before the Sports afternoon begins. It is Class photos on the same day in the morning so please send your child into school dressed in full uniform (including a cardigan or jumper) and bring their sports kit and coloured top to change into for the afternoon.

Talent Show - 23rd June - remember to complete the survey on spider if you would like a ticket to this exciting event - if you do not complete the survey we will assume you are not able to attend.

Waterproof coat - as per our reminders stated on the newsletter please ensure your child has a waterproof coat in school every day especially as the weather is very changeable at the moment. We like to get the children outside where possible, even in light rain, however, as of next week any child that doesn't have a coat in school when it is raining will not be allowed outside to play.

Cricket - Wednesday 10th June - KS2 children will not be attending Cricket at the Village hall. Foxes children to come into school in uniform if they are not attending the cricket tournament. Woodpeckers children will need to come into school in school uniform and should be collected from school as usual, not from the village hall.

Cricket Tournament - those children attending the Cricket tournament have been informed, please fill in the survery regarding collection by Monday.

Free online parent/carer Mental Health workshops for the rest of the Summer Term - please see attachments
 
Summer Fete/Raffle Tickets - please see attached poster for details of the summer fete next Sunday, 14th June. Raffle tickets will be coming home with the children today for you to sell, please can money, stubs or unsold tickets be returned to school by next Friday, 12th, at the latest.  Additional books are available from the office - please just let us know how many you would like. Please can we request you bring cash to the fete to pay for the stalls where possible
 
Dress Down Day - Friday 12th June will be a dress down day in exchange for a bottle donation for the blind bottle stall at the Summer Fete.
 
Menu Change Thursday 11th June - see attached poster for details of a menu change next Thursday, please note jacket potatoes and sandwiches will still be available to order.
 
Doughnuts with Dads - its not too late to book a place to attend, please see poster attached for details.
 
Class Requests - KS1 children are asked to bring in cereal boxes and toilet/kitchen roll tubes please.  Can Foxes please bring in something to repurpose into a teddy bear.
 
Year 6 - PTA have requested you send in photo's of your year 6 children throughout their time at Copdock.
 
Daily Mile Twilight Wave - please find attached details of free entry into this years Daily Mile at the Ipswich Twilight race on Friday 17th July.

Please check the attachments for information and also our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

 
 

REMINDERS!!!!

Please keep up to date with payments - whether it's dinner money or PGL.  Thank you.

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Muddy Shoes - If your child has a spare change of shoes they can change into for playtimes this would help to keep our classrooms clean.  Alternatively, plimsols for indoors and outdoor shoes for play. Thank you as always for your support.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
