School Council and Head Pupil Elections - as we approach the end of term, we will be holding elections for our key roles within school. This will support the childrens' understanding of the election process and democracy. School Council elections will take place on Monday 14th July and Head Pupil elections will take place on Tuesday 15th July. Please speak to your child at home if they are keen to be part of this process and support them to write their election speech ready for election day. If they would like to put up posters around school to promote themselves, that is fine too. In their speech to the whole school, they will need to demonstrate how they can meet our school vision...'to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens', and explain why they are a good candidate for the position. For the Head Pupil role, children receiving the highest number of votes will be considered for interview with Mrs Austin. A copy of the Head Pupil job description can be found here. Staff changes for September - as we get closer to the end of the school year, we wanted to update you on a couple of changes for the new school year. Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Cook, who has been working within Hedgehogs class for the past 2 years & more recently with Woodpeckers. Mrs Cook has contributed lots to our federation and we are extremely grateful for her commitment during her time with us. We wish her the best of luck as she explores new ventures and hope she will come and say hello in the future to share her news. We also say farewell to Mrs Callis, our 'Queen of Finance'. Having recently become a grandma, Tracy looks forward to sharing her time with her family. Tracy has been part of our schools' journey for 20 years and she will be sadly missed. From September we will be welcoming Mrs Ju Usher as our new School Business Manager and Mrs Amanda Perryman as our new admin assistant. This will add strength to our fabulous admin team across both schools, with Mrs Wilson and Mrs Cumberland meeting and greeting as usual. Reports - your child's report will be sent home electronically next week with additional assessment data for Year 6 following their SATs results due on Tuesday. Learning Journey records will be sent home before the end of term to celebrate each child's successes throughout the year. |
REMINDERS!!!! Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.Foxes need to remember clarinets for their lessons on Tuesdays. Reception children need to wear Forest Schools clothing on Fridays and bring welly boots. Earrings must be removed for PE lessons. Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn. Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled. Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening. |
Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
