Copdock Weekly update 03/07/2026

Information to Share

Payments - please ensure any remaining PGL payments are made by end of term where possible. As we approach the end of term it will also be helpful for school dinners to be paid up to date. If you need to know how many dinners are outstanding please contact the office.

Photos from Events and Activities - we like to share photos of trips and events with you so you can discuss the experience with your child. To share these safely, we will be adding them into a secure part of the website that can only be accessed by parents once signed in - group discussion. You should see a notification on your phone when something has been posted or you can sign in via a computer. We will only be sharing photos on Instagram and Facebook if children's faces cannot be fully seen. This is to reduce the risk of shared images being manipulated if accessed by the public via these sites.

End of year Reports - you will receive a link to your child's report on Monday. This will allow you to download it and keep a copy. The report provides information about your child's progress this year and their final teacher assessments. Their Learning Journey book will come home towards the end of term so you can share it with the children.

Start to the day on Monday 6th July for KS2 children - we are aware that we have some avid football fans amongst our KS2 children who may be alllowed by their parents to stay up/get up to watch the England football game early on Monday morning. We will be having an England football themed assembly on Monday morning but if any KS2 children do watch the game and wish to come in to school slightly later to allow some catch up on sleep, we will have a staggered starting time until 9.30am.  All children must be in by 9.30am and of course can come in at the usual time of 8.45am. We are all hoping for a win!

KS1 Multi Skills ASC - if your child attends please note the last session will be Monday 6th July when the children will enjoy a water fight.  Email sent to parents this week.

Ipswich Minster - children will be visiting Ipswich Minster again next week on Wednesday 8th July, if you would like to send in any donations please do so by Tuesday at the lastest so they can be taken with them on Wednesday.

Coffee & Chat - on Friday 10th July parents of the children who will be in Kittens class from September are invited in from 9am to 9:30 for a coffee and chat. This will be a great opportunity to meet the other parents as well as ask any questions you may have.

Class Photo Link - you will have received an email this week for your child's class

Year 6 Attainment - we have received a letter from the Secretary of State today about Year 6 SATs results. Sadly, these have been delayed and will not be sent to schools until 16th July. As soon as we have received them, we will send the results home for you. Please note, the assessments in your child's report are teacher assessments and not the test results for Reading, Maths and Spelling/Grammar.

Suffolk Community Libraries - check this out for the summer holidays- https://suffolkcommunitylibraries.co.uk/children-and-teens/reading-quest/

Polite Reminders - when waiting to come into school please could you remind children not to climb on the handrails, or go up the slope the other side of the brick wall. We would like to remind you that if you bring your dog to school please wait on the other side of the road in case any of the children are nervous around dogs.

We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

Please check the attachments for information and also our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community - we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Please keep up to date with payments - whether it's dinner money or PGL.  Thank you.

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.

Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.  Please check the uniform policy to ensure the correct earrings are being worn.

Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!

Squirrels: memory & holiday

Woodpeckers: hierarchy & classification

Our Value this half term is 'respect' If you would like to explore this theme at home, see our family leaflet here
