Bentley Weekly update 4.9.2026

Important Information to Share

We have had a wonderful start to the new term. As always the children have been fantastic!
There have been many successful moments to celebrate already... some of them as a class, some of them on an individual basis.
Thank you for supporting your child to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens.

The return to school is always a challenge for parents too, as there are so many things to remember. We thought it might help to share a couple of helpful reminders...
We will be holding a coffee and chat for new reception parents on Friday 11th September at 2.45pm to address any questions about school life. Please confirm your attendance

Water Bottles
Thank you to all parents who have already supported us by providing their child with a clear plastic water bottle of no more than 500ml. We really appreciate your cooperation.
As part of current  guidance, we are now supporting early years children with supervised toothbrushing in school. To help promote good oral health, we kindly ask that only water is sent in children's drinking bottles. Children are, of course, welcome to have juice or squash in their lunchboxes if you wish.  National guidance recommends that water should be the only drink available to children throughout the school day. We also want to encourage healthy hydration habits and ensure children are drinking enough water. Having a clear bottle allows staff to easily monitor water intake and support children in staying well hydrated. Please ensure that by Monday, your child brings a clear, see-through water bottle (rather than a metal bottle) to school. We have seen lots of lovely patterned and decorated bottles, and these are absolutely fine as long as they are still transparent enough for us to monitor water levels. This helps us support children in staying well hydrated throughout the day. If a drinking bottle contains squash or another drink, we will need to empty it and refill it with water.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in helping us promote healthy habits for all children.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful
