Bentley Weekly Update 3.7.2026

Important Information to Share

Photos from events and activities
We like to share photos of trips and events with you so you can discuss the experience with your child. To share these safely, we will be adding them into a secure part of the website that can only be accessed by parents once signed in - group discussion. You should see a notification on your phone when something has been posted or you can sign in via a computer. We will only be sharing photos on Instagram and Facebook if children's faces cannot be fully seen. This is to reduce the risk of shared images being manipulated if accessed by the public via these sites.

End of year reports
You will receive a link to your child's report on Monday. This will allow you to download it and keep a copy. The report provides information about your child's progress this year and their final teacher assessments. Their Learning Journey book will come home towards the end of term so you can share it with the children.

Year 6 Attainment
We have received a letter from the Secretary of State today about Year 6 SATs results. Sadly, these have been delayed and will not be sent to schools until 16th July. As soon as we have received them, we will send the results home for you. Please note, the assessments in your child's report are teacher assessments and not the test results for Reading, Maths and Spelling/Grammar.

Start to the day on Monday 6th July for KS2 children
We are aware that we have some avid football fans amongst our KS2 children who may be alllowed by their parents to stay up / get up to watch the England football game early on Monday morning. We will be having an England football themed assembly on Monday morning but if any KS2 children do watch the game and wish to come in to school slightly later to allow some catch up on sleep, we will have a staggered starting time until 9.30am.  All children must be in by 9.30am and of course can come in at the usual time of 8.45am. We are all hoping for a win!

Minster Visit
Children from Copdock will be volunteering at the Minster next week, if anyone has any donations to take with us, they will be gratefully received. Thank you

Warm Weather
As the weather is very warm at the moment, please ensure children come into school with suncream applied, a hat and a drinks bottle.  If your child does bring sun cream into school to top up during the day, please ensure it is a roll on as we can't have sun cream that is in form of a spray.  Please also ensure it is labelled.

Upcoming Events
Next week is Quad kids events for Hedgehogs and Adders - please read the information on the recent surveys sent out regarding attending the events or collecting your child from Copdock after the event.  The weather forecast at the moment looks like it is going to be very hot and sunny, so please ensure all children have drinks, hats and sun cream.

Some Adders children are taking part in Bikeability next Thursday and Friday - please ensure you have read the information and check their bikes this weekend.

Friday is PTA non - uniform day in exchange for raffle prizes

Please note that in the last week of term, all children will remain at Bentley on the Monday, there is no swimming or forest school and no ASC sports club.

Morning Club payments
If you have recently used morning club for an ad-hoc session, please ensure that you have paid on spider for the session please. We appreciate it is easy to forget at this busy time of year. If you are unsure how much is owed, please contact the office.

Are you able to help us for a short time at the End of school summer party , to help make this event run smoothly we could do with some extra pairs of hands !
Some of our normal helpers are year 6 parents and we need them to enjoy themselves !

Are you able to spare 30 minutes of your evening to help us serve food & drinks. We have Paul ( Cordy’s dad ) as our BBQ chef but we need someone to help serve the food.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Please email into school or speak to Sarah or Lucy if you are able to help.
Thanks

Governors do not need specialist experience — just a commitment to partnership with school leaders, a willingness to ask probing questions and a desire to make a positive difference to our pupils and community. If any parent knows someone from the community who might be interested, please pass on the information. We are particularly looking for experience or skills in finance, health and well-being .For an informal conversation, please contact Executive Headteacher Joanne Austin or the school office on 01473 73033 / 01473 310253 / [email protected]
