Bentley Weekly Update 3.10.2025
Important Information to ShareSCHOOL VISION
DEVELOPING RESPONSIBILITY
We have noticed a few more jumpers and cardigans without names recently. When children remove items of uniform, we encourage them to hang things on their peg or put them in their locker. This promotes responsibility and the importance of taking care of belonging, both our own and others. To support your children to develop responsibility, please ensure they have their name in all items of uniform that can be removed (including PE kit). If they come out at the end of the day without it, you can then ask them to go and find it as it has their name in it. Together we can reduce lost items and save money in replacing them.
SUCCESS AND CONFIDENCE
If your child takes part in clubs and activities outside of school, we would love to have a photo of them showing confidence or being successful to go on our school board. We also share certificates and trophies on a Friday in family assembly. We currently have no-one on our board but we know there are some really exciting things going in. Please share these with us!
Lost Property
We have a big box of un-named school jumpers and cardigans in school. The green box will be in the hall this afternoon at assembly time for parents to check. Please have a look, Some are new and must be missed. As requested above, please label all clothing (and check after washing that names can still be read) so we can easily re-unite items.
💛 World Mental Health Day – Friday 10th October 💛 On Friday 10th October, we will be joining schools and communities around the world to mark World Mental Health Day. This year, the global focus is: 'Access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies.' While this highlights the importance of ensuring support is available for those facing crises around the world, in school we will be focusing on how we can all play a part in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing every day. We are encouraging all children to wear something yellow alongside their school uniform. Throughout the day, we will be taking part in activities that promote wellbeing and help children explore ways to look after their mental health. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to:
By working together, we can create a culture where everyone feels supported to talk about their mental health and wellbeing. Thank you for joining us in celebrating this important day. 💛 Macmillan

Christmas Activities Cake Club- It’s nearly time again for our KS2 Christmas cake club for Year 3 -Year 6. The club will be running on a Tuesday for 5 weeks. 11th November 3.15 -4.15pm 18th November 3.15-4.15pm 25th November 3.15-4.15pm 2nd December 3.15-4.15pm 9th December 3.15-4.15pm
The cost will be £27.50 (£5.50 per week) for 5 weeks. To be able to run the club we need parent help to support the children with the making, marzipan and icing as well as washing/tidying. Unfortunately, if we do not have enough children taking part or parent help, we will not be able to run the club. Please email the office to reserve a place for your child which will be on a ‘first come’ basis. If you can support the club on any of the dates, please let us know.
Christmas craft club This will run on a Friday morning from 8am in the lead up until Christmas, 14th November until 12th December. Mrs Rivers will be supporting the children to make a bag of goodies to bring home, some will be simple gifts to share with family or friends. The cost for the 5 Friday sessions is £20. Children will need to eat before they join the sessions to make the most of the time available for making! Payment is via Spider and will be open until 20th October allowing us time to prepare materials for the activities. Amen Shoebox Appeal
We will be supporting the shoebox appeal alongside the church once again this year, linking this to our value of generosity with the children. Leaflets are available in school if you wish to complete your own box. However, we also welcome any small gifts from our families so the children can make up boxes with the donations received. More information about suitable gifts can be found on the Attached leaflet. The deadline for gifts is half term please, allowing time for boxes to be packed and prepared for delivery. Thank you in advance for your support.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
