Governor Reflection - Bentley and Copdock Years 3 / 4 London Visit - March 2026 Gemma Mark and I were invited as governors, to join the pupils for this London visit. It is a great opportunity for us to spend time with the pupils outside of their school environment. The trip was meticulously planned. Miss Cross had travelled to London, in her own time, on a weekend to walk the route, taking photos, which were shared with the adults in their Risk Assessments. Each adult was allocated a small group of children. It was a very early start and we had a friendly coach driver, who played videos from children’s tv, much to the pupils’ delight. The driver set us down in Jubilee Gardens, from where we had a very short walk to the London Eye for our first activity, the Thames sight-seeing boat trip. This was both exciting and challenging as for some children, this was their first time on a boat. We sat downstairs at the front of the boat and travelled past the Houses of Parliament, then turned and went as far as the HMS Belfast and then back again, with the crew highlighting points of interest long the route. On our return we walked the short distance back to the gardens, where we ate our packed lunches. We then walked back to the London Eye for our second activity. The children were divided into two groups and each had its own pod. This was another challenge overcome for those concerned about heights. Adults distributed sheets with the landmarks to look for at each point of the compass and the children eagerly went about the task. Cricket Club Session
Please see attached a flyer for a free cricket session after Easter
End of day supervision
We kindly ask for your support with our collection arrangements. Once your child has been handed over to you, they are no longer under school supervision. For this reason, we ask all parents to keep children close by so they can be easily supervised. Please can you also ensure that children are not taking equipment and balls from the shed at the end of the day to play football. The shed is tidied and balls put away at the end of lunch and we do need it to remain tidy and balls not left in the playground please.
Please make your way off the school grounds as soon as poosible so that the site can be secured by 3:25pm.Thank you for your support.
Morning Club
Don't forget that we offer morning club on site for families to use when needed, either regularly or occasionally. Please phone or email the office so we are aware your child will be attending. The costs are £1.50 from 8.30am with no breakfast, and £4.00 from 8.00am with a healthy breakfast. This is run by Mrs Rivers who will support children to access breakfast and activities.
We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
