PGL Payments
For those that are paying for PGL in instalments, please be reminded that the next installment is now due please.
 
Change to menu next Thursday - World Book Day
Please see the menu for next Thursday - there will still be sandwiches and jacket potatoes on the menu.
 
World Book Day Challenge - wooden spoon book character. 
Hedgehogs have so far produced some fantastic characters.  There will be a prize for the best one in each class.  Every child taking part will receive a Brain Sticker.  They need to be in by Thursday morning please. 
 
School Library
We are also opening the library on Thursday to coincide with WBD.  From Friday, the library will be open Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes from 12.30pm overseen by two trained  librarians from Adders Class.  One book at a time can be borrowed (providing parents have consented on Arbor) which can be issued/returned only on a Wednesday or Friday.  Once a week, there will be a story club where children can listen to a story read by one of the librarians.  The children are really excited about our new library and can't wait to use it!
 
PTA Mother's Day afternoon tea
The PTA is pleased to be running our Mother’s Day afternoon tea again this year, on Friday 13th March.
All special ladies are invited to join us at school for afternoon tea , your child / children will join you 🧁🍰🫖☕️

Must pre book
£5 which includes a hot drink & selection of yummy cakes , children are free and get a drink & cake too.

Two time slots - 2:30 to 2:55 or 3:05 to 3:30

To book please comment on Facebook post  or email [email protected] please say how many children you have at school so it’s easier to work out numbers for each time slot. There is a limited amount of space in the school hall so younger siblings are more than welcome too but must be on laps and due to limited space in hall no pushchairs please.
 
Red Nose Day - Athlete (ActivKids)
We are excited to share that we have an athlete visiting both schools on the morning of Thursday 19th March. They will lead an assembly on staying healthy and active and explain what it takes to be successful in sport alongside their personal experiences. The children will then complete a sponsored circuit activity led by the athlete. This will tie in with the Red Nose Day fund raising and we will be sending out sponsor forms and more information for parents early next week. Completed sponsor forms and money raised should be brought in by 13th March. Thank you for your support!
 
Parent Consultations 24th and 25th March
The parent consulation bookings are open for you to book your slot. There are two evenings; Tuesday is 5 -7pm and Wednesday is 3.30 - 5.30pm. Please note that Mrs Robinson is just offering the Tuesday but she is starting earlier than the 5pm. Mrs North is just offering  Wednesday but is offering a longer time from 3.30 - 6.00pm.
Slots are for 10 minutes and we ask that you keep to your allotted time please.  If you cannot make these days, or feel that you need longer than the 10 minutes allocated, please contact the office.
 
Easter Parade Friday 27th March
We will be holding our annual Easter parade on the last day of term, 27th March at 8.45am at the Church. We can't wait to see the children's beautiful 'bonnets', all shapes and sizes welcome!
We are looking for a couple of parents to support our Easter service so.please let the office know if you would like to take part.
 
KS2 London visits
As you are aware your KS2 child will be visiting London next month.  The risk assessment has been finalised for this visit and a short video explaining the day is now available on your child's google classroom account.  The children should know how to sign in and access this but any queries please let us know.
 
Morning Club
Don't forget that we offer morning club on site for families to use when needed, either regularly or occasionally. Just phone of email the office so we are aware your child will be attending.  The costs are £1.50 from 8.30am with no breakfast, and £4.00 from 8.00am with a healthy breakfast.  This is run by Mrs Rivers who will support children to access breakfast and activities. 
 
We hope you have all enjoyed seeing photos and updates about our recent activities in school.
 
Please check the attachments for some information and our Link to local clubs and events page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

Adders PE Day after half - term
Please remember that Adders' PE days are WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY.  Uniform to be worn on a Tuesday.
 

Shared Learning in classes - Friday 27th February

Parents are invited in for shared learning this afternoon.  Please come in at 2.45pm if you have 1 child, 2.30pm if you have more than 1 child. You will be asked to sign in and then join your child to look at their learnng in the hall or classroom. Please can we ask that siblings do not attend where possible due to space. Thank you  

Year 4 - 6 Federation Cross Country event
A reminder to send children in with some old clothes to change in to after half term on a Wednesday so that they can practice runs in school and please take some time to practise distance running at home. (For information, Year 4 run 1,500m and years 5 and 6 run 2,200m.)
 
World Book Day Thursday 5th March 2026
 
Children have got their book token to bring home this afternoon.  We have had lots of amazing wooden spoons brought in already, please can they be brought in by Wednesday 4th March
 
Lent Challenges:
A reminder of the Lent challenge. Your child brought home a paper copy of the challenges at the end of term which will need to be completed and brought into school by Friday 17th April 2026 (the week after Easter) for a small treat and two brain stickers.  Worship Group would love as many children as possible to take part this year.
 
 
27th February - Forest School info session for Bentley Parents 2pm
Miss Cross invites parents in to find our more about Forest School and explore whittling and tool use. This will be before shared learning this afternoon.Please let the office if you would like to attend.
 
16th March - Livestock project
We are so excited to be welcoming a ewe and her lambs to Copdock for this week. Children from all classes across both schools will be visiting the sheep during the week. More info to follow!!
 
 
School Library - please see above - this is really important so that children can borrow books from the new Library after halt-term
Please remember to complete the Library agreement consent on Arbor after you have reviewed the short agreement accessed on our website Library Agreement. .

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!

Fridays - Easter Craft club, 8am for children who have signed up
