Bentley Weekly Update 25.4.2025

Important Information to Share

After School Club after Easter
Monday Activity Club will be starting next Monday, 28th April to Monday 19th May ( not on Monday 5th May) at a cost of £6.00 ( 3 weeks). Apologies for the incorrect price in the newsletter last term.  Please register your child's interest with the office and pay prior to the start of the session on Monday.

Walking Bus
As per the email sent on Thursday, from Monday 28th we are starting a 'Walking Bus', promoting active travel to school as part of living healthy lifestyles. This is also to reduce cars around the school each morning as part of our sustainable travel in the climate action plan. We are encouraging everyone to meet at the memorial and Mrs Fisher will be leading the bus everyday at 8.35am until the end of half term. Please see the email for further details.

Whole School Food Policy
Thank you to all parents who have supported our whole school food policy. The policy has now been agreed by governors and is available to view on our website.  This has also been shared and discussed with children in assembly. Snack shop is open at breaktimes selling rice/corn cakes for 10p.  The children are welcome to bring in fruit from home or  help themselves to fruit in school.  Please pop fruit snacks in school bags and not lunch boxes.  The school council will also be following this up  by  thinking about how they could improve the variety of fruit and encouraging children to drink water; especially as the warm weather is nearly upon us....hopefully!

Adders Longshed trip on Wednesday
Further to the email regarding this trip sent on Wednesday, please could Adders children arrive at the slightly earlier time of 8.30am, the gate will be open earlier and they do not need to wait for the 'Walking bus' on Wednesday.

Dinner Sandwich Options

Please note chicken sandwiches are no longer available on the new menu due to ordering difficulties.

Photo Permissions

Thank you to everyone who has already accessed their records on Arbor.  Unfortunately the photo permissions have not migrated across from our previous system.  Therefore, it would be really helpful if you could update your preferences in the consents section to ensure we have accurate, up to date information.  If you are having any issues accessing the app or your child's details, please let us know so that we can iron out any teething issues and ensure the system works efficiently for us all.

Please check our Local clubs and events page on the website for things going on in the community.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
