Important Information to Share  

Changes to PE days next week
Adders is Wednesday (not Tuesday) and Thursday for next week only.
Hedgehogs is Monday and Thursday for next week only
 
End of day supervision
Further to the email sent on Monday, we kindly ask for your support with our collection arrangements. Once your child has been handed over to you, they are no longer under school supervision. For this reason, we ask all parents to keep children close by so they can be easily supervised. Please make your way off the school grounds so that the site can be secured by 3:25pm.Thank you for your support.
 
Year 4 - 6 Federation Cross Country event
Please complete the survey sent out on Monday to indicate if your child would like to take part, and if you can transport your child to and from the event. Please complete even if your child does not wish to take part.
 
Exciting events coming up...
9th February - tractor visit 
A local farmer will be bring his tractor to Copdock so the children can find out more about food and farming. As KS1 children from both schools will be at Copdock on this day, they will have the opportunity to sit in the tractor and find out all about how it is used.
 
11th February - children across the federation will be engaging in a World Religion Day, exploring artefacts, virtual tours and belief systems. Copdock KS1 children will spend the day at Bentley with Wolves class and as we have 36 children we are asking parents to drop off at Bentley School for 9am on this day as well as collect if possible. 
Adders and Hedgehogs will spend the day at Copdock and will be transported there and back in the school minibuses.
 
25th February - Bentley visit to Ipswich Minster 
Our next group of children will be exploring volunteering at th Top Up Shop. Parents will be contacted directly soon.
 
27th February - Forest School info session for Bentley Parents 2pm
Miss Cross invites parents in to find our more about Forest School and explore whittling and tool use. This will be before shared learning which begins at 2.30/2.45pm. Please let the office if you would like to attend.
 
16th March - Livestock project
We are so excited to be welcoming a ewe and her lambs to Copdock for this week. Miss Zych, Kitten's teacher, will be trained in how to handle and look after the lambs carefully, enabling the children to experience first hand how to take care of the sheep during their stay. Children from all classes across both schools will be visiting the sheep durting the week. More info to follow!!
 
 
Online Safety
All classes will be marking safer internet day on 10th February to continue their learning in online safety. This year's focus is 
Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’. You may want to check out this free webinar to find out more.
Recent concerns have a;lso been raised about access through 'virtual private networks' (VPNs) - apps/programs that people can use to make themselves more private online. With the age restrictions introduced by the Online Safety Act 2023, the number of people using a VPN has increased dramatically. Read this factsheet to find out what a VPN is, how to spot if your child is using one, and what you can be doing at home to support your child.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

A reminder that payments can be paid monthly and the next payment can be paid this month.

Please remember to complete the Library agreement consent on Arbor after you have reviewed the short agreement accessed on our website Library Agreement. .

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!

Mondays - Wolves Forest school (all day) and Hedgehogs PE at Copdock (pm).
 
Mondays - KS1 Multi skills After School club at Copdock - pick up for children who have signed up, at 4.15pm from Copdock school.
 
Thursdays - pm Hedgehog class Forest School
 
Fridays 2.45pm - Family sharing assembly - please see Assembly rota for children sharing this term.
 
 
Tuesday 3rd February - Adders U11 Basketball at Inspire (attendees have been advised, children to arrive at 8.25am please)
 
Monday 9th February - tractor visit for KS1 children
 
Wednesday 11th February - Federation World Religion Day - see weekly news for details.
 
Monday 16th to Friday 20th February - Half-Term
