London Visits - KS2
We are now busy planning and preparing for our visits to London in March.
Miss Cross will be visiting the site to support our risk assessments and further information will be shared after half term.
                                            Y3/4 March 18th March          Y5/6 26th March
We have secured a grant of £1000 to support costs for this visit and our amazing PTAs will also be contributing. This means the cost to parents will be approx £4.
The visit will support curriculum topics in Geography, particularly comparisons in physical landmarks within the capital city. The day is planned to be a fantastic experience for the children, including a boat ride down the Thames and a aerial view of the city via the London Eye. There is currently no plans to explore further than these areas.
If you have any questions which will support our planning please do send them in now so we can include answers when we share further info after half term.

Ipswich Minster Visit
Following the success of our visit to the Top Up Shop at Ipswich Minster, we have agreed a monthly visit with a group of children. This will be an opportunity for those who want to explore volunteering to do so. Our next visit will be on 21st January and children attending will be from Copdock. Bentley children will go in February. Parents of children involved will be contacted directly. If any families would like to make donations to the food bank before the visit, please send them into school by MONDAY 19th so we can take them with us.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
