Adders PE Day after half - term

Please note that after half term, Adders' PE days will change to WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY.  Uniform to be worn on a Tuesday.

 

Attendance

You will have received yesterday by email your child's attendance information for this half term.  This is just an overview for your information. Any queries please email into the office.

 

PGL Payments

For those that are paying for PGL in instalments, please be reminded that the next installment will be due after half term.

 

Shared Learning in classes - Friday 27th February

Parents are invited in for shared learning.  Please come in at 2.45pm if you have 1 child, 2.30pm if you have more than 1 child. You will be asked to sign in and then join your child to look at their learnng in the classroom. Please can we ask that siblings do not attend where possible due to space. Thank you  

After School Sports Club next term

This will be for KS1 children next half term on a Monday after school.  Please complete the survey that will be open from 6pm today if you would like your child to attend / continue. You will be notified on Monday 23rd February if your child has a place.

Friday morning Easter craft club next term

We are pleased to advise that we intend to run Easter Craft Club after half term.  It will start on Friday 27^th February and run for 4 weeks to Friday 20th March.  The cost is £20 which can be paid via spider or cash/cheque in to the office. Please complete the survey to book your child's place. Please note that children will not receive breakfast at Easter Club so please ensure that they eat before they come in.

Donations for Top up shop

Mrs Austin and some children will be visiting the Top Up Shop after half term,  donations are greatly received - non perishable food items are ideal.  Thank you for your support.  (Children from Bentley who are accompanying Mrs Austin need to be at school for 8.20am please). 

 

Lent Challenges:

This year, Lent is during half term and Worship Group would like the children to take part in our annual Lent Challenges.  There are 25 challenges to be completed during this time and there are a few new ones.  Your child will bring home a paper copy of the challenges today which will need to be completed and brought into school by Friday 17^th April 2026 (the week after Easter) for a small treat and two brain stickers.  Worship Group would love as many children as possible to take part this year.

 

World Book Day Thursday 5^th March 2026

 

This year, to celebrate World Book Day, we are asking children to turn a wooden spoon into their favourite book character.  See examples below:

 

 

Wooden spoons can be bought really cheaply from supermarkets and there are lots of ideas on the internet.  All decorated spoons need to be brought into school by Wednesday 4^th March. Every child who takes part will receive a small prize and there will be a winner from each class. Therefore, we will not be dressing up this year. 

 

In addition to the competition, our revamped library will be officially opened by one of our governors and children will have the opportunity to borrow the new books providing parents have completed the consent form in Arbor. Unfortunately, any children who do not have consent will not be able to borrow any books.  Please make sure that this has been completed as soon as possible. There are currently 20 children who have not had consents to borrow books. 

 

Your child will also be given a book token which they can exchange for a special WBD book or get £1 off another book. 

 

We hope you all have fun decorating your wooden spoons and look forward to seeing your creations.

REMINDERS!!!!

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
