Livestock Project
We are excited to be welcoming our sheep to Copdock school on Monday 16th March. All children will have a chance to see them during the week. There will be strict hygiene procedures in place with hand washing before and after interacting with them. If anyone feels they would prefer their child not having direct contact with the sheep please let the office know.
Children should wear forest school / old clothes and bring wellies or trainers on the following days when they will be visiting the sheep: They will also need a change of footwear to wear after visiting the sheep when coming into building to prevent contamination of faeces.
Wolves Monday and Wednesday; Hedgehogs Thursday, and Adders Tuesday.
The Big Walk and Wheel week!
Next week is the 'Big Walk and Wheel' week, this is the UK’s largest walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling challenge. It inspires pupils to make active journeys to school, improve air quality in their village and discover how these changes benefit their world. Please join us by walking, cycling or scooting to school next week (parking at the war memorial still counts if you live too far out to walk!). Our school will also be entered into a prize draw - the more journeys we log, the more entries we get!
The Big Plastic Count
School/Eco Council have delivered an assembly about The Big Plastic Count. The Big Plastic Count is the UK’s biggest investigation into household plastic waste.
From 9-15th March, thousands of people, schools and communities will be counting the plastic packaging they throw away. By counting every piece of plastic packaging you throw away in a week, you'll help pressure the government and companies to reduce plastic waste and create a better future for young people. Your child will be sent home with a count sheet to record how much plastic is thrown away at home during the course of the week. Once your household has completed the investigation, your child can record your results at home via our unique class links. Please join School/Eco Council to create a fairer future for young people - thank you!
KS1 Colchester Castle Trip
Thank you to those parents who have already returned the permission slip for this trip. If you are unable to print the letter please note that an email into school giving permission will be fine.
Ipswich BMX Club
Children had an assembly on Thursday where Elias from Copdock shared his BMX experiences. If this is something your child may be interested in, please find attached a leatlet from the club Elias attends.
End of day supervision
We kindly ask for your support with our collection arrangements. Once your child has been handed over to you, they are no longer under school supervision. For this reason, we ask all parents to keep children close by so they can be easily supervised. Please can you also ensure that children are not taking equipment and balls from the shed at the end of the day to play football. The shed is tidied and balls put away at the end of lunch and we do need it to remain tidy and balls not left in the playground please.
Please make your way off the school grounds as soon as poosible so that the site can be secured by 3:25pm.Thank you for your support.
