Bentley Weekly Update 10.10.2025

Important Information to Share

Attendance
Our school's attendance is 96.0% which is above the National and Local average. Despite the recent coughs and colds children have been attending and on time. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in academic success. Thank you for your support in ensuring your child is present and on time every day.

PTA Summer Fair

A big thank you to the PTA who raised a huge £1247.54 at the Summer Fair.  It takes a lot of hard work to organise so we would like to thank the PTA for their work and to all families who supported the event.  The children really benefit from all the money raised by the PTA. Thank you!!

Parent Questionnaire
As part of our Ethos committee and Worship Group reviews, we would like to involve parents in sharing their views. Please complete the very short questionnaire below so we can consider the responses in our action planning. Thank you

Adders Activity Week - w/c 20th October
All information regarding this week and what is needed on each day will be sent home next week.

Medicines in school
As we approach the cold & flu time of year, please check the Medical and First Aid Policy for details of administering medication in school.  We encourage children to come in with mild colds if they are feeling well enough, and often a dose of paracetamol before the school day will help them achieve this.  As per the policy, if they need a further dose during the school day parents are welcome to come in to administer medication at lunchtime.  If you are unable to do this, the office can administer paracetamol sent in to school along with a completed authorisation form.  Please ensure the medication is labelled and the expiry date checked.

Amen Shoebox Appeal
We will be supporting the shoebox appeal alongside the church once again this year, linking this to our value of generosity with the children.  Leaflets have been sent home with your child for each family yesterday. If you wish to complete your own box please attach the leaflet to the decorated box as per the leaflet.  However, we also welcome any small gifts from our families so the children can make up boxes with the donations received.  More information about suitable gifts can be found on the leaflet sent home and the Attached leafletThe deadline for gifts is half term please (Thursday 23rd October), allowing time for boxes to be packed and prepared for delivery.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Arbor

Please ensure that any changes to your details, or your child's medical details are regularly updated on Arbor.

Please check the attachments for some information and our Local events and clubs page on the website for things going on in the community.- we are always adding new information from 3rd parties for you to consider - there may be holiday clubs or sporting opportunities, or events taking place in local villages.  We also include courses available to parents on a variety of topics.

REMINDERS!!!!

Naming uniform
Please can we remind you to name all clothing , including PE kit and lunch boxes, water bottles.  We can easily reunite items if they are named

SUCCESS AND CONFIDENCE
If your child takes part in clubs and activities outside of school, we would love to have a photo of them showing confidence or being successful to go on our school board. We also share certificates and trophies on a Friday in family assembly. We currently have no-one on our board but we know there are some really exciting things going in. Please share these with us!

Lost Property Box
There is a growing number of lost items (Un-named) in our lost property box - please pop in to the office after school to check the box, it will also be left in the hall each Friday for family assembly - please take a look!

Craft Club and Christmas Cake Club
Don't forget to sign up for our Christmas Clubs:
Craft Club for all years on a Friday morning, names and payments to be in by Monday 20th please to allow time tp buy resources.

Christmas Cake making on a Tuesday after school - for KS2 children - we only have one name at the moment so we need some more to be able to run this fun club and you get to have a delicious home made cake for Christmas. Put your child's name down by Friday 17th and we can make the decision whether we can run it.

Coats

As the weather changes, please can you send in a waterproof coat each day with your child.  We do try to get children outside at playtime and lunchtime even if it is drizzling so a waterproof coat is necessary (a fleece will not keep them dry). Please ensure all clothing is named so lost property can be reunited with their owner.

Art tokens

Tokens will be printed in the Ipswich star and East Anglian Daily Times from 29th September and running until the 6th December. Simply cut out the tokens and drop them into the office for the school to have a chance of winning some art supplies..

Lunch and Morning Club payments - Please ensure that all payments are paid weekly as taken. thank you for your support.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
