Important Information to Share
Lost Property We have a lot of unnamed lost property - this will be put out in the playground again tonight. Please check the boxes and claim anything that your child is missing. There are a couple of fleeces in the box which are quite expensive so we are sure you have missed them. Please ensure all clothing, bottles, lunch boxes are named to help us reunite belongings with their owner. Books to come home Children will be bringing their books home next Friday. During the week, please can you send in a large strong bag so they can be safely brought home, The large resuable shopping bags are ideal. PE next week There is no cricket coaching on Tuesday so Adders and Hedgehogs will not be going over to the cricket club. Please can Adders wear PE kit Monday, uniform on Tuesday Hedgehogs to wear PE kit Monday and Tuesday. Wolves wear PE Kit on Monday, uniform on Tuesday Updated Free school meals information See attached flyer Leavers Moving on Assembly - Year 6 will be attending a 'moving on' assembly at Bentley church on Tuesday 15th July. Children will be taken from, and returned to school in the school minibus. Leaver's Assembly will be on Monday 21st July - all families are welcome. As usual please drop children off at the church from 8.35am where they wll be met by staff. if you are not staying for the service, please continue to drive along Church Road rather than turning round for safety and in consideration of other road users. Children wiill either walk back to school after the service or be transported in the school minibus. Food Festival next week Parents are invited in to share what your children have been cooking on Wednesday afternoon from 3.00pm. Please go round to the outside classroom for dellicious samples of food. Federation Writing Day Thursday 17th July As per the recent email, Thursday 17th July is the Federation Writing Day, as part of this KS2 children will be going to a workshop at Copdock school on the afternoon of 17th. KS1 children will remain at Bentley for their writing day. As part of the day, KS2 in both schools will be spending the afternoon together at Copdock where they will share their writing in their phases and at 2pm, Lisa Thompson, popular children's author and ex-Copdock parent, will be running a publishing workshop. There will also be an opportunity for the children to purchase her latest book, 'The Boy in the Tree' (£7 each or 3 for £20, cash in a named envelope please).. KS1 will also have some exciting activities planned where the two schools can link up via a video link to share their writing. All parents are invited in to school on Friday 18th at 2pm to look at what your child has been writing and join in some activities. Please open your invitation. Open me! Change to Menu Friday 18th July The Kitchen have advised a change to the menu next Friday 18th July. The main meal choices will be Chicken Sausage in a roll, or veggie sausage in a roll, with curly fries and vegetable sticks with chocolate brownie and ice-cream for dessert. There will also be usual jacket potato and sandwiches on offer. Please let your child know so they can make their choice of lunch. School Council and Head Pupil Elections A reminder that school council and Head Pupil elections are taking place next week. Children have been spoken to in assembly about this. School Council elections will take place on Monday 14th July and Head Pupil elections will take place on Tuesday 15th July. Please speak to your child at home if they are keen to be part of this process and support them to write their election speech ready for election day. If they would like to put up posters around school to promote themselves, that is fine too. In their speech to the whole school, they will need to demonstrate how they can meet our school vision...'to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens', and explain why they are a good candidate for the position. For the Head Pupil role, children receiving the highest number of votes will be considered for interview with Mrs Austin. A copy of the Head Pupil job description can be found here. Please see attached a flyer for a local dance club who are able to run an after school dance club at school on either a Tuesday or Friday after school. If you are interested in this, please contact the office or the dance school directly and advise a preferred day. We will then let them know and it will be up to them whether this is viable, Please note this is not a school afterschool club and all payments and queries would have to be referred to them.

☀️End of school summer party ☀️ ☀️Monday 21st July ☀️5:00 - 7:00pm Everyone is invited We hope everyone will be able to join us to help celebrate the end of an amazing school year where the children have worked so hard and achieved so much. We will also be saying goodbye to our year 6 pupils and wishing them well for their move up to high school and welcoming our new Bentley bunny’s. All friends and family are welcome. We will have a BBQ and bar. All BBQ food must be pre-ordered by Friday 18th July. Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.
