Adders Class 9.2.26
Date: 4th Feb 2026 @ 8:06pm
Welcome to the final week of this half term.
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on TUESDAY and THURSDAY this week. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).
On TUESDAY, it is Safer Internet Day. We will be learning about how to safe online, particularly using AI.
On WEDNESDAY, it is World Religion Day at Copdock. Mrs North will register you and Mrs Lawrance will drive you over to Copdock to spend the day learning all about different religions in your year groups. I will meet you at Copdock for collective worship. Mrs Austin will bring you back to Bentley in time for the end of the day. It is going to be a fantastic day! If you usually order a school lunch, you can still do this as we will be having lunch at Copdock.
On THURSDAY, we have our fantastic governors spending the day with us so they see first-hand how we learn at Bentley. I'm sure you will welcome them and answer any questions that they ask you.
WORLD BOOK DAY is on THURSDAY 5th March and there is going to be a competition where you can turn a wooden spoon into your favourite book character. Details are on this week's newsletter. We will also be relaunching our library on this day and, providing your grown-ups have consented on Arbor, you will be able to borrow our new books!
Remember, you MUST bring a warm waterproof coat to school EVERY DAY as you will be expected to go out at playtimes even if it is raining or cold.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Improve' and our value this half term is 'Courage'. Our words this week are: 'portraiture' and 'proportion'.
This week's homework is:
- Over half term, I would like you to design an A3 poster retrieving the information you have learnt over this half term. You can use the A3 sheet provided or complete a Google docs document, sharing it with me via Google Classroom. The information about this assignment is on Adders Class Google Classroom. Please let me know asap if you have problems accessing Google Classroom at home.
- Continue to learn the third column of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words for a test after half term. The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.
Please complete your homework and bring into school after half term on FRIDAY 27th FEBRUARY 2026.
