Date: 4th Jun 2026 @ 8:04pm
Welcome to the second week of the second half term.
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on TUESDAY and THURSDAY this week. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers). We have another Sports Day Practice on Tuesday and it is Sports Day on Thursday afternoon. You will need to wear your team's colour t-shirt.
Those of you taking part in the U11 Cricket Festival on WEDNESDAY, you will need to come dressed in school PE kit (you will be given this on Tuesday). Your grown-ups should have let the office know if you are being collected from the venue as it is a late finish.
Remember, you MUST bring a waterproof coat to school EVERY DAY as you will be expected to go out at playtimes even if it is raining.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Tuning In' and our value this half term is 'Respect'. Our words this week are: 'northings' and 'eastings'.
This week's homework is:
- Maths - Y5: Calculating angles in a triangle; Y6: Circles.
- Spelling sheet - Statutory Words
- Writing - use the picture stimulus to write 5 sentences using the different sentence types learnt in class: compound, complex (middle), verb complex and subordinating complex. If you are unsure, please look at this video on the website. All the details are on Google Classroom. You can submit your writing on Google Docs or handwrite it in your homework book.
- Continue to learn the final column of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words. The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book. You will be tested on these. Do not forget to practise your personal spellings.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.
Please complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 19th JUNE 2026.
