Adders Class 29.6.26
Date: 25th Jun 2026 @ 9:20pm
Welcome to the fifth week of the second half term. There is A LOT happening each week until the end of term, so it is VITAL that you are looking at the blog every day and reminding your grown ups to read any emails about anything going on at school, including trips, sporting events, etc...
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE. PLEASE CHECK THIS EVERY DAY!
On TUESDAY, Year 6 from both schools are going to Suffolk One for a really exciting day. You will need to wear school uniform and bring a packed lunch and drinks. Mrs Austin and Mrs Hicks will be with you for the day. As I am out of class for the morning, Mrs Lawrance will be looking after the Year 5s.
It is Worship Group on TUESDAY lunchtime.
On WEDNESDAY, it is our annual visit to Pleasurewood Hills with Foxes Class! We are travelling by minibuses and staff cars (myself and Mrs Saunders). All the information that you need has been emailed out to your grown-ups, so please check this. You will need to be in school for 8.15am so we can leave promptly at 8.30am. We are leaving Pleasurewood Hills at 4.30pm. I will let the office know our ETA (estimated time of arrival) so someone can let your grown-ups know. Please come dressed suitably for the weather (NO VEST TOPS) wearing trainers and make sure you have a hat, suncream on and plenty of food and drink! You can bring no more than £5 to spend in the shop.
On THURSDAY afternoon, Year 5 are spending the afternoon at Copdock to do with PE with Foxes Year 5s and Mrs Saunders - you will be transported during lunchtime in the minibus by Mrs Hicks. Year 6 from both schools are going to Bentley church for a 'Moving On' workshop. I will be taking some of you in my car and Mrs Hicks will collect the rest of you from school after dropping off the Year 5s. Therefore, Year 5 will need to wear PE kits and Year 6 will need to wear uniform.
Also on THURSDAY, we will be preparing and cooking a healthy pasta dish. Your grown-ups are invited into school from 3pm to taste the food with you. We hope as many people will be able to sample our delicious food.
On FRIDAY morning, Year 6 are going over to Copdock for a Diversity Workshop led by students from EBHS. Mrs Austin will be transporting you in the minibus. Year 5 will stay at Bentley with me.
Remember, you MUST bring a waterproof coat to school EVERY DAY as you will be expected to go out at playtimes even if it is raining and the weather is also unpredictable. Also, make sure you have suncream and a hat if the weather forecast is warm, which it is likely to be again this week.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Don't Give Up' and our value this half term is 'Respect'. Our words this week are: 'repurpose' and 'functional'.
This week's homework is:
- Revise all of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words. The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book. You will be tested on all of these over the next couple of weeks. Do not forget to practise your personal spellings.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.
Please complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 10th JULY 2026.
