Adders Class 23.2.26

Date: 20th Feb 2026 @ 2:30pm

Welcome to the first week of the second half term. I hope you all had a lovely half term with your families.

This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.

You will need to wear your PE kit on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY this week. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).

On WEDNESDAY, I am out of class so Mrs Lawrance will teach you in the morning and Mrs North will teach you in the afternoon.

On FRIDAY, it is shared learning where you can share this term's learning with your grown ups.  They are invited in from 2.45pm unless you have siblings (from 2.30pm).

DON'T FORGET: WORLD BOOK DAY is on THURSDAY 5th March and there is going to be a competition where you can turn a wooden spoon into your favourite book character.  Details are on this week's newsletter.  We will also be relaunching our library on this day and, providing your grown-ups have consented on Arbor, you will be able to borrow our new books!

Remember, you MUST bring a warm waterproof coat to school EVERY DAY as you will be expected to go out at playtimes even if it is raining or cold.

The learning behaviour this week is 'Try New Things' and our value this half term is 'Truthfulness'.  Our words this week are: 'evolve' and  'inherit'.

REMEMBER, YOUR HALF TERM RETRIEVAL HOMEWORK IS DUE ON FRIDAY 27th FEBRUARY.  I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR POSTERS.

This week's homework is:

  • Maths - Decimals.
  • Spelling sheet - Homophones
  • Writing - use the picture stimulus to write 5 sentences using the different sentence types learnt in class: compound, complex (middle), verb complex and subordinating complex.  If you are unsure, please look at this video on the website. All the details are on Google Classroom. You can submit your writing on Google Docs or handwrite it in your homework book.
  • Continue to learn the third column of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words - you will be tested this week.  The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book.  Begin to learn the fourth column.
  • Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!!  If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
  • Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge.  Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.

Please complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 6th MARCH 2026.
