Adders Class 19.10.26

Date: 15th Oct 2026 @ 2:23pm

Welcome to the final week of this half term and what an exciting week it is as we will be at PGL from MONDAY to WEDNESDAY.

This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.

On MONDAY, you will need to be at COPDOCK at 7.30am at the front entrance so you can say goodbye to your grown-ups and put your luggage in the van (unless you are travelling in my car).  Please do not bring a massive suitcase as we simply do not have the space.  A rucksack or small suitcase should be sufficient with your sleeping bag and pillow in a Bag For Life (NAMED).  You can bring a smaller rucksack for the journey where you can keep your NAMED water bottle and anything you would like to do on the journey.  As we are no longer doing canoeing, you do NOT need to bring a swimming costume and extra towel.  This has been replace with Trapeze which is a really exciting activity.

On THURSDAY, it is the Girls' Football Tournament.  You would have been given a kit so you need to come to school dressed in your kit and bring a packed lunch and water bottle.  All the details are on the email sent to your grown ups.  You will need shin pads.  You will be travelling by minibus with Mrs Shand, leaving Bentley at 8.45am.

Please do not forget your clarinet on THURSDAY because you will still be having a music lesson in the afternoon.

Your homework for half term is Retrieval Homework where you will be given an A3 piece of paper to produce a poster about this half term's learning or you can use Google Classroom (PowerPoint slide, Word Document).  All the details will be on Google Classroom from FRIDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2026.

  • Learn the first column of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words.  The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book.  You will be tested on this column after half term.  Do not forget to practise your personal spellings.
  • Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!!  If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
  • Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge.  Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.

Please complete your homework and bring into school AFTER HALF TERM on FRIDAY 6th NOVEMBER 2026.
