Adders Class 16.6.25
Date: 12th Jun 2025 @ 3:37pm
Welcome to the third week of this half term.
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY as you have PE with Ben on Monday and at Copdock Cricket Club on Tuesday afternoon. We are practising Sports Day on Tuesday morning. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers) and you have a hat and suncream on if the weather is going to be warm.
It is our annual Sports Day on WEDNESDAY afternoon, so you will need to come dressed in your PE kit wearing your coloured t-shirt for your team. We will be walking up to the field at 11.45am to have a shared picnic with your grown-ups.
On MONDAY and THURSDAY morning, selected Y6s are attending EBHS with Mrs Lawrance in the minibus with some children from Foxes - your grown-ups would have received a letter and email inviting you to this. You need to make sure that you have a packed lunch on these days.
Please bring into school your clarinet on THURSDAY and make sure you are practising the songs we have learnt at home.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Work Hard' and our value this half term is 'Truthfulness'. Our words this week are: 'functionality' and 'multi-function'.
This week's homework (to be given out on FRIDAY 20th JUNE 2025) is:
- Maths: Algebra.
- Writing: Please watch this VIDEO explaining the different types of sentences (from 4mins 24 seconds to 6mins 53 seconds). The images for each sentence type are also below. I would like you to write eight sentences in a paragraph about the picture (shown below). The task will be explained in detail in your homework book. You must write using black handwriting pen and make sure that your presentation is of a high standard (clearly written handwriting and correct spellings).
- Spelling Sheet - Y5/6 CEW.
- Practise ALL the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words and your personal spellings. You will be tested on these spellings on FRIDAY. I will test you on all of the Y5/6 CEW at the end of this month to compare your scores with your baseline test from September.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book.
Complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 27th JUNE 2025.
