Adders Class 14.7.25
Date: 10th Jul 2025 @ 3:45pm
Welcome to the final full week of this academic year.
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY as you have your last PE with Ben on Monday morning. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers) and you have a hat and suncream on if the weather is going to be warm.
On TUESDAY, you need to wear school uniform. Year 6 are with me at the church for a Moving On workshop with Foxes Class and Mrs Windmill at 9am. I will transport you there in my car. Year 5 will remain with Mrs Lawrance until we return, hopefully before playtime.
It is also Head Pupil and School Council elections this week so if you're interested in standing for either of these roles, please have your speech ready for Collective Worship on MONDAY and TUESDAY.
On THURSDAY, we have our Federation Writing Day where we will spend the morning writing our stories and then travel to Copdock by minibus or my car with Hedgehogs Class to spend lunch there. You can still order a school lunch to eat there. At 2pm, I have arranged for Lisa Thompson to come in to lead a publishing workshop. Lisa is an ex-parent of Copdock and has written many children's books, her first being 'The Goldfish Boy'. You will have the opportunity to buy her latest books - £7 each or 3 for £20. Please bring the correct money in a named envelope to take to Copdock on the day.
On FRIDAY, you will be taking all your books home so you will need to bring in a STRONG PLASTIC BAG to carry them. We also have an exciting day planned where you will be spending time writing and publishing your stories, displaying them in the woodland area. Your grown ups are invited in to school from 2pm to take part in some magical activities with you linked to writing. They will also have the opportunity to read your published story.
It is also our class assembly on that day so I hope lots of grown ups will attend.
This week's homework is:
- Practise ALL the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words and your personal spellings. I will test you on all of the Y5/6 CEW at the end of this term to compare your scores with your baseline test from September.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book.
