Welcome to the first week of the Summer Term.  I hope you all had a lovely Easter and spent some quality time with your families.  Hopefully, you didn't eat too many Easter eggs!!

This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.

You will need to wear your PE kit on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY this week. You will have cricket or Padel at Copdock Cricket Club on Wednesday and athletics with me on Thursday.  Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).

Remember, you MUST bring a warm waterproof coat to school EVERY DAY as you will be expected to go out at playtimes even if it is raining.

Don't forget your Lent Challenges need to be completed and brought into school by FRIDAY 17th APRIL to receive a prize.

The learning behaviour this week is 'Try New Things' and our value this half term is 'Friendship'.  Our words this week are: 'infantry' and  'rationing'.

YEAR 6, you have your next set of SATs homework to complete this week.  On Google Classroom, there are revision guides for maths and SPaG.  These can be viewed online.  You will need to read the information first before answering any of the questions.  Your homework needs to be completed and brought into school by MONDAY 20th APRIL 2026 so we can mark it in class.

This week's homework for YEAR 5 ONLY is:

  • Maths - Percentages.
  • Spelling sheet - Words including 'ough'.
  • Writing - use the picture stimulus to write 5 sentences using the different sentence types learnt in class: compound, complex (middle), verb complex and subordinating complex.  If you are unsure, please look at this video on the website. All the details are on Google Classroom. You can submit your writing on Google Docs or handwrite it in your homework book.
  • Learn the fourth column of the Y5/6 or Y3/4 Common Exception Words.  The ones you need to learn have been highlighted on the list in the front of your homework book.  You will be tested on these this week.
  • Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!!  If you don't, you need to go on here EVERY DAY.
  • Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your diary for our Reading Giants challenge.  Ask a grown up to sign your book on Friday's section.

Please complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 24th APRIL 2026.
