How can I be reassured that my child is receiving his or her entitlement?
The purpose of an EHC plan is to make special educational provision to meet the special educational needs of the child, to secure the best possible outcomes for them across education, health and social care and, as they get older, prepare them for adulthood. It is a statutory requirement that the local authority must secure the special educational provision specified in the plan.
This information will be shared with parents through termly reviews and discussions of next steps and provision. Provision maps will also be shared with parents and further arrangements can be discussed with parents on an individual basis to ensure parents are confident that their child is receiving the entitlement specified.
