Induction meeting for new parents
On Wednesday 17th May 2023, we will be holding our induction session for new parents, which will hopefully give you a flavour of experiences at Bentley and answer many of your questions about daily life. This will commence at 2pm and will last for approximately 30 minutes - 40 minutes. Ms Lizzy Cooper will explain how the Foundation curriculum is explored by the children within our learning environment.
Please try to attend this meeting so we can support you in the early stages of transition to primary school education.

Over the summer, please help your child to:
- develop their language and communication by teaching them new vocabulary and spending time chatting to them every day. This is vitally important, see Ican website and CLPE website for advice in this area. There are some lovely wordless short animations on the CLPE website that you can use to start discussions with your child.
- learn to dress independently
- use a knife and fork to cut up their own food and feed themselves
- go to the toilet independently
- count everything!
- develop their fine motor control by doing puzzles, building with small lego, drawing with chalks, using tweezers, threading with small beads
- begin to write their own using the correct letter formation rather than 'sticks' and 'circles'.Please read your 'Starting School' folder for more tips on preparing to start school.
