Copdock Weekly Update 30/09/2022

MacMillan Event

Thank you to everyone who donated cakes and/or came along to watch the children perform this afternoon, supporting our fundraising efforts for MacMillan.  We are delighted to announce we have raised £210.40 - THANK YOU!

Drop-Off

I've been asked to remind parents not to congregate at the railings when dropping the children off in the mornings.  Please also refrain from standing in the road, it restricts access for vehicles and does not set a good example for the children.  The children have settled well into their morning routine of saying farewell at the bottom of the ramp so please reinforce this by moving away from that area once you have said goodbye, unless you need to speak to the staff member.

Flying Assembly

We had a visitor into school this week to hold a whole school assembly telling us all about his love of flying and career based upon it.  We also learnt how fractions can be used in our working lives.

KS1 Visit to Church

The children in Squirrels and Kittens had a lovely trip out on Thursday afternoon to visit the church and learn about christenings.

Big Band

Foxes children will be visiting Ipswich School on the morning of Thursday 6th October for a concert by the British Army band (who recently performed at the Edinburgh Tattoo).  This is covered by the local visits permissions.  Hot dinners can be ordered as normal on this day.

Uniform Order

Please see attached a uniform order form.  Please note the deadline of Monday 10th October.  Please ensure an order form is sent in regardless of how it is paid for.  If paying by cash or cheque, please send together with the form.  If paying via the school website, you will need your login details, you will also need to complete and submit the order form to the office - please ensure you have marked on the order form your payment method.

Don't forget we have 2nd hand uniform available all year round for a donation.  We also accept good quality, clean uniform to stock our 2nd hand sales.

PTA AGM

Next week sees the AGM for this year's PTA committee.  We are due to start at 7:30pm on Wednesday and will meet in the school hall.  Please also see attached for details of the next event coming your way.

PGL Meeting

Mrs Windmill would like to invite parents along to a meeting to discuss arrangements for the PGL trip coming up after half term.  The meeting will be held on Monday 10th October at 8:50am in the school hall and is anticipated to last about half an hour.  Please ensure you have discussed options with the office if you have not completed payment by the end of today.

Bikeability

For those children now in year 6, your rearranged bikeability is coming up in a couple of weeks.  Please remember to spend some time ensuring your bike is roadworthy and that your helmet still fits despite growing your brain for the last 4 weeks.  Please see the email sent on Wednesday for further details.

Young Voices

Thank you for your replies regarding the Young Voices trip in February.  As previously mentioned, there is an option to purchase t-shirts and for adults to purchase tickets if they would like to attend.  A Form will be sent out next week for you to reply.  Please note we MUST have replies before half term to make sure we get our order in before the deadline.  Please keep an eye out for this next week.
