Bentley Church of England VC Primary and Copdock Primary Schools

We are part of a federation located in Suffolk, where we share a Headteacher, Mrs J Austin and have one Governing Body.

We share the same values, face similar issues and are geographically close enough to support and challenge each other.

We recognise, however, the unique characteristics of each of our communities we work in and how they are reflected in distinctive school cultures.  We encourage cultural diversity, celebrate the special qualities of each school and recognise that communities must grow and develop to become sustainable.

Our schools plan many activities jointly, but we have separate finances to support our individual priorities.  We aim to share good practice and resources across the two schools as we provide the children with a creative approach to their learning.

At Bentley and Copdock Primary Schools, we promote high aspirations for every child, cultivating a love of learning within a friendly, supportive and challenging school environments.

As small schools we have the privilege of getting to know each pupil as an individual, enabling us to guide and support them throughout their learning journey resulting in high levels of personal achievement.

Working in Partnership since 2010, our schools share a range of expertise, resources and experiences, enhancing provision and opportunities for both staff and pupils.

A Message from our Headteacher

Welcome to the Partnership of Bentley Church of England and Copdock Community Primary Schools.

Our school website is where we hope to share an insight into daily life at Bentley and Copdock Primary Schools.  Working together in partnership, we provide an exciting and carefully designed curriculum which meets the needs of our two small rural schools.  High expectations for staff and children promotes opportunities for all to be the best they can be. We believe that every child can be confident, successful and responsible, making appropriate choices about how they learn. In close partnership with parents we promote the development of important key skills and values and encourage application in all aspects of daily life.

We are proud of our schools and value the strong community links we have both locally and further afield. We regularly visit our local churches, St Mary’s in Bentley and St Peter's in Copdock, for celebrations and activities which support our curriculum experiences throughout the year.

Our excellent provision in both schools has been recognised by Ofsted with a good and outstanding judgements for all aspects of school life.

We encourage all prospective parents to visit our schools during the day to see classrooms in action. If you would like to make an appointment please contact the school office at Bentley or Copdock and speak to one of our Office Managers.

Joanne Austin, Headteacher

Our vision is for all children to be…

confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens

… who are well equipped for future life, whatever that may hold.

The school’s ethos is well communicated, and values such as respect, trust and compassion are upheld by pupils and staff alike. Leaders provide strong and effective leadership that is focused on their desire to provide pupils with the best possible opportunities.
