This Girl Can

This week, Miss Verow spoke to the children about becoming an ambassador for This Girl Can Suffolk. 

This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, they want to help women overcome the fear of judgment that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.

Miss Verow explained to the children that her aim for being an ambassador is to promote sports and physical activity for girls and women, to overcome barriers to activity and become successful athletes. Miss Verow does this through the sports she plays; volleyball and netball. She started playing volleyball 5 years ago as a complete beginner and found it difficult to begin with but with perseverance and a lot of practice she is now competing in National League division 1, playing against teams across the country. She really enjoys encouraging children to be active and sporty!
