ITFC - what a day!

What a day... bright, sunny and a winning game for Ipswich Town, the first in 8 matches!

It was the final game of the season and a fantastic opportunity provided free of charge for 15 pupils to attend ITFC to watch the game. The children were quiet during the early part of the game and wanted more action. They became much noisier when the first goal was scored... number 10, David McGoldrick at 15.30 minutes.

Ipswich dominated much of the first half hour but the pace was slow at times. A penalty for MK Dons just before half time meant the teams left the field at 1-1, much to the disappointment of the children.

The second half was more energetic with a controversial free kick and a couple of near misses. The crowd became more animated with the arrival of Brad Pitman, who lives in Copdock. A second goal at 68 minutes led to the chanting of "who are ya, who are ya?!"

Although both teams were neck and neck as we entered the 90th minute, Ipswich's Luke Varney saved the day with a final goal. End score 3-2!!!

The children were fantastic and were a pleasure to spend time with. Many completed notes during the match ready to produce a match report in class next week. Thank you to our adult helpers too smiley
