Copdock Weekly Update 28/04/17

Internet Issue: The internet issues we were experiencing were sorted out on Tuesday, hopefully we have now caught up with ourselves and the website should be up to date with any letters sent out last week. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the problems.

After School Clubs: Unfortunately there was some confusion around the KS2 Dance club which was due to start last Tuesday. We will be running it again on 2nd May but unless more people sign up we will have to cancel it as it would not be viable to run it. The more people that attend, the cheaper the club will be for this half term. If you would like to give it a go, come along after school on Tuesday – please hand slips into the office via the post box or the register boxes in the morning.

New Menu: As the new menu option for week 3 Tuesdays potentially contains peanuts/nuts, we have arranged a change to the menu – the option is now Hunter’s Chicken! For the alternative offering there will be a Hunter’s vegetarian option. This will replace the curry on the week 3 menu going forward.

The Brook Inn: Our local public house had a Coffee morning on Wednesday and £30 was raised for the school. Thank you to them and all who contributed.

Woodpeckers Trip to Braintree Museum: On Monday, Woodpeckers went to Braintree Museum to learn more about the Stone Age to Iron Age.

KS1 Trip to Orford Castle: On Wednesday, KS1 visited Orford Castle to learn about its history and to prepare them for their upcoming topic. The children had a lovely, if a little chilly, day, exploring, sketching and even invading the castle!

Spelling Bee Championship: Some of the Foxes & Badgers classes took part in a Spelling Bee Championship at East Bergholt High School on Thursday, with support from their class mates. They all did amazingly well and came a fantastic 3rd in the morning heats, and maintained that position to finish joint 3rd overall from 18 teams! Well done! If you’d like to find out more there is a video from BBC Suffolk on Facebook via the following link:

KS2 Next Week: Next Wednesday KS2 have an exciting afternoon – some of them will be participating in the re-arranged cross country at East Bergholt High School, whilst the remainder of the children will be going to listen to the African Children’s Choir. Please ensure permission has been sent in. Many thanks for the donations for the choir received to date.

PTA Meeting: The next meeting of our PTA takes place next Tuesday 2nd May at the Brook Inn at 8pm. Please go along to see if you have something to offer to the proceedings, everybody welcome.

Miss Charrington: Miss Charrington has asked us to thank everybody who donated and organised her beautiful flowers – they certainly cheered her up as you can see.
