Copdock Weekly Update 26/11/2021
Parent Consultations
Thank you to everyone who attended our virtual parent consultations. Following the upgrade of the website we are still learning about all the different functions. Thank you for bearing with us and persevering. Please do let us know if you have any issues with logging in so that we can ensure they are resolved prior to the next event.
Advent Tree Service
We are looking forward to welcoming in the advent season and decorating our tree on Monday. Those Reception/Year 1 parents who have already expressed an interest in joining us are welcome to attend. Please complete an LFT before the day and wear a face covering on entering the building. We will be videoing the event to share at a later date.
Christmas Jumper Day
Next Friday, children are invited to come into school in their uniform but wearing a Christmas jumper in exchange for a donation for the tombola stall at the Christmas Fayre.
Phonics Workshop
Miss Cross will be hosting a Phonics Workshop for parents of reception and year 1 children on Wednesday 8th December at 2:15pm. Due to the current restrictions we can only welcome one adult per child at the event. If you would like to attend, please confirm via email to the office.
KS1 Nativity Performances
This year we will be hosting 3 showings of the KS1 nativity. Two tickets will be available per family, these can be taken across any of the showings. They will be issued on a first come, first served basis. The performances will be on Monday 13th at 2:30pm, Tuesday 14th at 2:30pm and again at 5pm. Please look out for an email coming your way via the website. There will be one per showing. Please open the relevant showing and complete the number of tickets required. There is a limit on the system. Where we are unable to accommodate your first choice, we will try our best to allocate another showing.
KS2 Carols
Our Foxes and Woodpeckers will be performing Christmas Carols outside from 2:45pm on Wednesday 15th. Please feel free to come along and join in. Please maintain socially distancing and wear masks on site where applicable.
Christmas Lunch
Don't forget to let us know what you will be having for lunch on Wednesday 15th when we host our Christmas Lunch. You must respond via the Form sent out in the email last week, please reply even if you are bringing in a packed lunch from home. We need to know numbers by next Friday at the latest. Thank you to everyone who has already replied.
Raffle Tickets
A huge thank you to those of you who have already sold and returned your raffle tickets or requested more tickets for the Christmas Fayre on 10th December – you still have until 8th December to bring in the stubs and money please. We would love as many of you to have a chance of winning one of the fantastic prizes we have on offer, but if you don’t think you will be able to sell your 2 books for any reason, please can you return to school as soon as possible so we can redistribute them to help us raise as much as we can for the school. If you need any extra tickets, please let one of the PTA know or the school office and we will arrange them for you!
Some of the great prizes we have on offer can be view in the attached document.
PTA Recruitment
The PTA are currently working tirelessly to put on our annual Christmas Fayre along with the Wreath Making night and also a Speed Quiz. The committee are seeking new people to take on some of the organisation going forward. Please do reflect on your time and consider if you can support them in any way. We need more members. If you are able to help or would like more information, just ask Ruth, Laura or Miss Cross on the playground. If you are unsure who they are, ask the staff on the gate and we'll point you in the right direction.
Swimming
On Monday 6th December, children will be assessed as part of their swimming. They will need a t-shirt and shorts as well as their normal swimwear to assess their survival skills; old clothes would be better in case the chlorine affects the clothing.
Items for Sale
We have some beautiful scarves for sale, these will be available to purchase at the Christmas Fayre (stock permitting), but if you'd like to get in first, they are £8 each. Please contact the office for more details. A photograph has been attached for your reference.
