Copdock Weekly Update 26/02/2021

Welcome back to another half term with a difference.  Whilst this one starts with some remote learning, we are all hopeful that we can conclude it with all children back in school.  We are really looking forward to seeing them all very soon.  Further details on the return to school will be shared next week.

World Book Day

Next Thursday is World Book Day.  This year the tokens are electronic, the link is below, a PDF version is also attached for your convenience.  You can either print off a token for each of your children and take it to a participating store, or present it on your mobile screen (not all stores will accept the electronic token).  It's best to check beforehand which stores are accepting the tokens, how they are accepting them, and their current opening arrangements.  https://www.worldbookday.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/booktoken_PrimaryUK.pdf  More information will follow on class discussions next week as to how we will mark this in our learning.

School Dinner Payments

There is a new link to use if you would like to prepay for school dinners online. Please visit https://connect.suffolk.gov.uk/schoolmeals/ where you can prepay for meals through the Suffolk County Council online payment system. Please do not use the old link as payments made on there do not show up on the new system. Of course, if you would prefer, you are still very welcome to pay by cash or cheque.  Please ensure you are paid up to date before prepaying via the new link.

Charitable Event

We have received details of a charity providing free, professional bereavement services, including a national helpline for those experiencing grief.  They are asking schools to share their details to encourage families to help raise some money for their cause by walking in memory of a loved one.  Please take a look at this link if this is something which may be of interest to you. https://www.griefencounter.org.uk/event/the-forget-me-not-walk/  If you would like to talk to a member of the Grief Encounter team, please call 0808 802 0111 it's a confidential, freephone number open every weekday between 9am and 9pm.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
