Copdock Weekly Update 24.03.17

Cycle Ride: The Audax cycle ride held last Saturday was a great success. From the sale of refreshments on the day the PTA has raised £270 for the school. Many thanks to everyone who supported the event – especially those who donated the edible treats.

Vacancy: Please speak to the office for more information on the role of midday supervisor. We currently have a vacancy and are offering the opportunity to parents/carers before advertising in the wider community.

Basketball Posts: Sports Crew are still looking for some volunteers from our parents to help construct the new basketball post. Please contact the office if you are able to offer your services for this task.

Rock Steady Assembly: On Wednesday we had a musician from Rock Steady Music School come to perform in assembly. He had the children singing and clapping along from the moment they entered the hall! They thoroughly enjoyed the performance and have hopefully been inspired to become more musical!

Red Nose Day: Today the children and staff have come into school wearing something red and sporting big red noses! We have raised a total of £94.25 for comic relief from donations.

Swimming: On Monday 27th March we will be holding an inter-federation swimming gala to round off this year’s swimming at Oakland Hall. Please see the email sent out on Thursday for more details. Please let us know if you are intending to come along and watch so that we can give the venue an idea of numbers as parking and space is limited.

SATS Booster Group: Please note that as most of year 6 will be at the cross country next Wednesday (29th) there will be no SATS booster group that evening.

Cross Country: Don’t forget if you are running on Wednesday at the Royal Hospital School to bring your warm clothes to put on between events. You also need to remember your packed lunch and plenty of water to drink.

KS1 Dental Workshop: As per the letter last week, if you haven’t already done so, please return the slip confirming your attendance at the workshop next week and DON’T FORGET YOUR NAMED TOOTHBRUSH on the day.

Easter Bonnets: On the last day of term will be the Easter bonnet parade – get creative with your headgear designs to stand a chance of winning a prize. Parents are invited to join us ready for the parade at 2:30pm ahead of our Easter assembly to round off the Spring term.

Kittens Disco: As Kittens have worked so hard at growing their brains since Christmas they are to be rewarded with a disco during the morning of the last day of term. As per the email sent out on Thursday, if the children would like to wear party clothes for the disco please send these in in a named carrier bag for them to change into purely for the duration of the disco.

The Great British Spring Clean: As per the March edition of IN TOUCH the Great British Spring Clean will be taking place in Copdock & Washbrook on Saturday 1st April between 10am and 12 noon to clean up our village verges and open spaces. Please meet at the Church Room in The Street to collect your equipment (bring your own gloves). Upon returning these you will be offered delicious refreshments. All volunteers are welcome. If you require any further information please contact the parish council.

Competition Time: Raring2go! Magazine has sent us details of a competition where you could win a trip to Go Ape for a whole class at our school! If your child is aged 6-15 please follow the link below and enter your child’s details anytime before 31st May to put us in with a chance of winning. More details are available on the Raring2go!
