Copdock Weekly Update 23/06/2023

Sports Day

It was so lovely to see so many families sharing our sports day on Monday.  The weather was very kind to us and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.  The red team scored the most points across the afternoon events but it was very close across all the teams.

Class Photos

Following our class photos being taken last week, we have received this information from Bentley Photographic for ordering your copies:

NEXT WEEK

WCET Festival

Please see the email sent via the website on Wednesday 14th June with all the details.  Children should wear smart uniform including shoes.  They will need a packed lunch, drinks and their guitar.  Please note photos and video footage will be taken by the event organisers.  If you have purchased a ticket for the event please ensure you have printed it out ahead of attending, and notified us if you will be taking your child home direct from the event.  Please do not arrive before 1:40pm

PTA Non-Uniform

Next Thursday the PTA are inviting pupils to come into school in non-uniform in exchange for bottles for the Summer Fayre bottle stall.  Please wear appropriate clothing for being in school.  Please see attached the list of prizes on offer from the raffle - if you've yet to return your raffle stubs please do so.  If you'd like more tickets, we have a few in the office, otherwise ask a member of the PTA who'll be happy to give you more.  Please also see attached the poster giving details of what the PTA are currently fund raising to help finance at school.  If you can help at the fayre, please volunteer and share the work so the team can also enjoy the day.

Induction Days

For those year 6s moving up to East Bergholt High School, inductions are being held next week.  Pupils should be taken directly to the high school in the morning and collected from there in the afternoon.  You should have received details from EBHS to that effect.  Pupils will receive an authorised absence once we have confirmed attendance.

Whilst the majority of year 6 are out of school, the rest of the children will get to visit their classrooms and teachers for next year.

FURTHER AHEAD

Quad Kids

Please ensure all replies have been sent in regarding the Quad kids events for Foxes & Woodpeckers by Friday 30th.  We need to know how many parents will be attending and therefore how many children (if any) need transporting back to school.  Please pay attention to the dates for the year groups, it can get confusing!

Year 4 Sleepover

Today is the deadline to notify us that your year 4 child would like to stay for the sleepover.  More details will be send home next week once we have confirmed numbers.

Talent Show

Tickets are still available to book for the talent show on Friday 7th July.  Please note, if any of the audience is ordering an ice lolly, payment can be made via School Spider or in cash.  You only need to pay for lollies that have been ordered when tickets have been booked.  The children in school that day will receive an ice lolly.  Bookings need to be placed before Friday 30th June.

Year 2 Trip to Suffolk One

We are excited to be taking our Year 2 children to Suffolk One on 13th July, where they will be welcomed along with over 275 children from 8 different schools.  The children will have the opportunity to work with around 13 businesses and organisations, engaging in a range of practical hands-on activities with a STEM theme.  This links nicely to our event earlier in the year at the Village Hall for Science week.  The overall objective is to directly link school children with the world of work, to allow them to see and talk to people from all areas and to build in them a lifelong curiosity and passion for the world of work.  The children will need a packed lunch and drinks bottle please. Collection will be as normal for the end of the school day.
