Copdock Weekly Update 18/11/2022

Football

Woodpeckers said: "At football we did some matches.  We played against lots of people.  We really enjoyed it.  It was very fun but the teams were very hard.  I love football.  We tried very hard to score a goal."

Open Day

On Thursday morning we welcomed families to look around our school in action.  They are considering sending their children here next September.  We have another open event next week.  The children in school showcased their classes and our school with confidence and pride.

Children in Need

Thank you to all the children who supported Children in Need today by wearing spots or non-uniform.  We have raised £44.20 for the charity.

Tag Rugby

"8 Foxes went to Ipswich Rugby Club.  It was a bit cold at first but it warmed up.  When we started playing there was room for improvement but at the end we did a lot better.  We played 6 matches and worked together very well.  We had a lot of fun."

PTA Mtg

Our PTA are working hard to ensure our Christmas Fayre is a success.  At this week's meeting the stalls were finalised.  Now you have the opportunity to volunteer.  Please see this spreadsheet to add your name against a stall and a time slot.  The more volunteers we have the more time everyone gets to enjoy the fayre.

Today the children have been given an envelope per family with raffle tickets in for the PTA Christmas Fayre.  Please return stubs and monies to the school office.  If you require additional books please let us know.  If you have any unsold books, please return them to the office so that they can be passed onto those requesting more.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Parent Consultations

Our next set of parent consultations will be held on 30th November and 1st December.  These are open to all parents/carers in the school - from reception through to year 6.  Please log onto School Spider to book your appointment.  These will be available from today until Monday 28th.  After this date, appointments can only be made via the school office.  If you are unable to find a convenient slot please email into the office.

Christmas Lunch

Please see the attached menu for Christmas Lunch.  This will be held on Thursday 15th December.  DINNERS MUST BE ORDERED IN ADVANCE.  Please complete this Form even if your child will bring a packed lunch on that day.  The deadline to order is Tuesday 29th November for EVERYONE to reply.  For those children in Woodpeckers and Foxes, the cost of the meal will be £2.50 - this can be paid in cash (in a named envelope) or via School Spider.

Swimming

Next week swimmers will be assessed on water safety.  Please send them in with their swimsuits and also an old t-shirt and shorts or pyjamas for their lesson.

Flu Vaccinations

Our re-arranged date for flu vaccinations is Friday 25th November.  If you have already given/declined consent, this will be carried forward.  If you have yet to complete the online consent form please see the attached letter and follow the link.  Please note the administration of the flu vaccinations is handled entirely by the nursing team, not the school office.

After School Club - KS1

We are already planning for the Spring Term.  If your Kitten or Squirrel would be interested in attending an after school club on Mondays with Joe (our PE coach) from 3:15-4:15pm focussing on multi skills, please let us know.  This would run after Christmas until half term initially with no cost to families.  Unfortunately if we do not have sufficient interest we will not be able to run the club - so please do let us know in advance so that we have an idea of numbers.

Coronation Bank Holiday

In light of the announcement of His Majesty’s Coronation on Saturday 6th May 2023, an additional bank holiday has been announced on Monday 8th May.  We will therefore be closed on this date.

Woodpeckers are still on the look out for wire coat hangers, if you have any to spare please send them in!
